I think Verdun could be right, Woo. If the roots of the Buddleia are sitting in saturated soil for a day or two they could be "drowning" because the Oxygen in the soil gets cut off. As you know, very little affects Buddleia as they are very tough.

The only other problem could be a disease known as Phytophora which is a fungal disease rotting the roots, although I have never ever seen that on a Buddleia. I think it's more likely that it's the roots sitting in saturated soil.:dunno::coffee:

Hello @Verdun and @ARMANDII my friends thank you for that I shall move and check the roots, its very frustrating as they grow everywhere here locally ie,rubbish dumps,by the side of the railways etc:smile:

I agree, Woo, they are real survivors and so tough. I used to store stems of Buddleia in bundles for over two years and then use them for Pea sticks and canes. When I did that I found that even after two years:hate-shocked::dunno::) of drying out they would reroot in the ground

So if the roots are dry then it's not saturation that caused the unhappy state:dunno: Perhaps potting it back up, Woo, and giving it some nice compost so sit in for a while might change it's condition:dunno:.......................if not I have "one or two" in pots that I can send you:heehee:

Normal General Purpose Compost will do, Woo, and if you can add some sand and/or grit so much the better. All my Buddleias, (White, Yell are around 30 years old and when pruned some of the prunings end up in pots and some are growing quite happily in my neighbours and friends gardens:coffee::)

They're that tough, Woo, I wouldn't think you wouldn't have to knock some concrete up and planting in the hole.................just sit it on the concrete and it'll find a way of growing:hate-shocked::love30::dunno::heehee:
