Amazon Prime Scam

There have been messages arriving on people's mobile phones, ostensibly from Amazon, saying that they are renewing their subscription at £39.99 and to contact their account manager (link provided) to deal with it.

Good afternoon I have had 8 calls (automated message)in the last two days on the home phone with a message telling me they they are going to stop my internet connection in the next 24/48 hours,please press one.

 

I don't get any scams on the home phone because we have Call Guardian (it's just a computer chip in the phone that intercepts them). Most landline providers give a similar thing free of charge.

 

I always check on call rates for phone numbers. If it's a premium rate line for a business you can usually find an alternative number.
