@NigelJ our garden is way behind yours.

The Hellebores are only just starting to show and I removed a wheelie bin full of Hellebore leaves yesterday

We have three large patches of Arums but I haven't (yet) looked to see if there's any variation in markings :noidea:. They're spreading rather too quickly now but are also being invaded Cyclamen. The Cyclamen are even more invasive than the Arums and are even spreading through the lawns. :rolleyespink:

Sarcococca are wafting their lovely scent throughout the garden (each bush is kept to about 5ft high and 4ft diameter).

The Camellias are just starting to bud

Fatsia 'Spider's Web' is looking good

Whilst big cousin keeps an eye on him
    P1470320.JPG

We removed a very overgrown winter honeysuckle and planted these in late Autumn. They seem to have taken OK
    P1470323.JPG

Almost all of our Hebes have stopped flowering but this one hasn't
    P1470325.JPG

The smaller one next to it is still going as well
    P1470327.JPG

One of the new ones, never flowered yet, seems to have taken well

Hellebore foetidus is looking a bit tatty but they should perk up soon ( @NigelJ I haven't checked our Corsicus but don't think they're doing anything yet)

@strongylodon Our Saphora has recovered from losing its leaves. Has yours? Flower buds are just about forming

@ARMANDII we have named this Witch Hazel 'Armandii' and it has taken well. Thanks :dbgrtmb:. It has just started to flower

Our big yellow one is trying to encourage it

@shiney My H argutifolius was a bit late this year, normally it's in flower at Christmas. One year I made the mistake of cutting some flowers and taking them inside for a bit of Christmas greenery. That experiment lasted as long as it took them to warm up a bit and me to work out where the "burnt rubbery smell" was coming from. On the plus side on a sunny day the bumble bees like them.

@NigelJ They're not listed as part of the 'Stinking Hellebores' for nothing :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

There's not much looking good in my garden yet. I haven't done much to it since the summer so it is due a serious tidy up.

This is the view from the French doors.
            20200113_093231.jpg

My Helibore Niger has flowered nicely but the leaves have died. Why is that?
            20200113_092926.jpg

My sarcococca is still very small but it is flowering nicely.

I have the odd isolated snowdrop.
            20200113_092600.jpg

Other spring bulbs have started to appear.

Oops. How did that get there? :noidea:

I have high hopes for the aubrieta once the asters have died down.

The best part of my garden from last summer is still doing well.

The camelia in the foreground is budding nicely. The pieris in the centre is in flower. The mini roses in the pots at the far end are showing new growth. The jasminoides on the fence is looking good too.

Mahonia is looking good, despite the strong winds - excuse the poor image. Yucca thompsoniana, bottom left, is taking shape nicely.

Echium, bottom right, isn't looking too great although two of its relatives, all sown last summer and only 6 feet away are looking much better

Hi @strongylodon I was referring back to 2018 with your post #81 WHAT'S LOOKING GOOD IN APRIL 2018 :)

I remembered it because we had a similar situation but even worse than yours

My good old Garrya "James Roofe" in full catkin display after a slow start this year. It is over 20 years old and cheers me up when I see it doing it's stuff.
