Get that sort of thing with the leaves on my redcurrant bushes, something to do with a type of aphid, doesn't harm the bushes.

If you cannot find any insects then itsTaphrina, a fungal infection, more commonly known as leaf curl, more prevelent in stone fruits, but there are other strains that infect other fruiting and non fruiting trees, including Alder and apple, for example Taphrina deformans is the strain in peach, Almond, Nectarine, whilst the cherry tree version is Taphrina cerasi.
Taphrina is a pathogen that effects trees not just of the Prunus family, with the loss of chlorophyll the leaves blister and turn red, the fungal infection is difficult to control in our current climate, very wet followed by very warm periods, you couldvtry Bordeaux mixture.

Well must admit I thought it was fungal, but looking at the link @NigelJ has put up it does look very much like it.
Sorry @Logan I dismissed you suggestion.

@Cuttings ,that is the reason I assumed it was fungal as the thickening of the leaf and the white and red really is a good mimic of peach leaf curl which I've seen every year on my peaches, though it had jumped on to the apples.
