Didn't the EU ban using sprays made of chillies on your chilli plants and garlic spray on your garlic?

I'm trying a new beefsteak tomato in 2020 Feo de Rio Gordo Although supposed to be best in a greenhouse or polytunnel unless there's a hot summer, it's also described as "notably early ripening for a large beefsteak variety", so although I got them to grow in my tunnels, I might try a couple outside to see how they compare.

Dear Sandy, sounds just like us but you have evolved more anti-whitefly systems than us, though we will set up your methods. Mind you I have still to find 'original' seeds as opposed to any named variety!

Back to whitefly! Yes the Green Gardener has been helpful. Their whitefly treatment worked but seemed to be susceptible to drops in temperature, which of course the damned whitefly got over! Since I've used insecticide, I will have to wait for its effects to die down before introducing the anti-whitefly wasps!
So the interim garlic sprays going to be used. Whilst plants small putting them outside in rain seems to help so the gardener tells me (she who must be obeyed) actually she's growing in skills by the day! However won't be able to do this when cold (yes when plants small!!)
        Thanks very much again!

        Re: tomato varieties for 2021
Found Medwyn Williams' website (just his name!) And have bought the only Welsh Tomato, Y Ddraig Goch (Welsh Dragon) for inside and Red Crush for outside. Both growing incredibly well, along with some incredible exhibition onions, not that I intend to show anything!
Am very impressed with the website for everything gardening including seed (and seedlings!) Fertilisers, compost and especially pots of all sizes. Medwyn Williams based in Llanfair PG in Anglesey which is of course where I'm from! No problems online and very quick. Try it!

I'm trying a Waitrose variety called Jack Hawkins. I saved some seed from last year.

At the risk of repeating people, Supermarkets use names that are not the actual variety and if they are F1 they will not come true
            Regards Sandy

I've grown from seed taken from supermarket fruit and although they may not come true you usually end up with something pretty close to the original.

Re my Medwyn Williams sourced tomato seeds. Both produced, for me, the most INCREDIBLE crops! Best ever! Can't eat raw Tom's though cooked ones fine. So NO BLIGHT, Crimson Crush guaranteed blight free! Ddraig goch an exhibition variety (I never exhibit!) And produced huge trusses (average 7) of similar sized fruit both indoor and outdoor, still turning red! (Leafless now) Not many indoors as Whitefly HUGE pest! Most in pots/containers. Taking cuttings for next year as well as buying more seed from Medwyn!
