    It is a good Rose, but one that failed miserably in my garden, possibly due to the light soil, years ago.:dunno::wallbanging:

    I wanted red repeating climber. Chosen Florentina after a long research. Looking forward to see it flowering in real life this summer. Mine from classicroses.co.uk. they have plenty of varieties to research.

                Rosa Compassion is a very strong grower. It's new growth very quickly matures and becomes thick. From experience. I'd suggest, for the first season or two. Foget all the hype about pruning. Watch the growth, select leaders that are going your way, and cut accordingly. This is such a great rose. Make every attempt at filling the center of the plant first and gradually take control of future growth.

                A quick word about black spot and any other problems your roses are listed as being susceptible. Keep the soil/compost at ground level, clean. Spray well before any signs of trouble. To spray already infected leaves/ground is just pouring your money down the drain. If affected leaves etc. Be drasitic , cut and burn.

                  So now I need to know how to prepare that border for the roses going in. There is one fabulous apple tree and a lot of daffs and snowdrops in there, that's all I can see so far. What do I need to add before the roses go in? And TY for your good and patient help.
                  Mike Allen I'm sorry I didnt see yr reply. I have always in the past sprayed hell out of diseased plants, I thought that was what you did. I won't any more!
