    Some nice plants their @Nikolaos I've got E. Neptune gold nice plant but not the longest flowering , the foliage tend to lose its vibrant yellow colouring to a more lime as the season goes on. Tried E.Miss Ghost a while back planted it to deep ( middle ) in the border It couldn't compete so disappeared , Most eryngiums are the same don't cram them and plenty of light is a must. I like Actaea's I bought Brunette for my mum, I have A. james compton myself it never seems to fill out though :noidea:

          I ordered another load of plants from Ballyrobert yesterday, I'll end up with more than I can look after properly again this year! :biggrin::wallbanging::doh:

          Eupatorium dubium 'Baby Joe'

          Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Dark Knight'

          Abelia x grandiflora

          Nepeta x faassenii 'Kit Cat'

          Actaea simplex 'Pink Spike'

          Yes, that's the trouble with a lot of eryngiums isn't it Perki, such brief flowerers! :gaah: I want 5, 3 blue types, a silver and a yellow, haven't seen another yellow one like 'Neptune's Gold' so despite the brief flowering period I had to have it. :biggrin: I have 'Blaukappe' which is another brief-flowering one, I want to add 'Big Blue' and will look for another longer-flowering blue one. I'm hoping 'Silver Ghost' will seed itself in the border! :fingers crossed: OK, I shall give them plenty of sun and space, thanks for letting me know!

          Another group of plants that sound like frustratingly brief flowerers, I will plant 'Brunette' where its fleetingness is less of a problem, I think. I'm hoping the 'Pink Spike' cultivar I just ordered is a bit better, flowers are more of a pink-white, starts flowering in June and carries on right up to late October according to the Gardeners' World website, we shall see if that's true! :biggrin:

            Yes @Sheal I said the same to my wife.
            Yes i got on to them right away, I've just received a reply, they've said the plant will recover but they too were astounded in the way it had been sent and that they are issuing me with a full refund.

              My plants from Ballyrobert arrived this morning, they look nice and healthy! :blue thumb: I think my cirsium will be flowering soon. The persicaria I bought from them last Spring is just coming into flower and a female Orange Tip butterfly has spent hours and hours sitting on one of its flower spikes, not sure why as it hasn't even opened yet! :biggrin:

                My plants from Claire Austin arrived this morning and I'm really pleased with them. :) They are only 9cm plants but I will plant some straight into the new border, others will be potted on to bulk up. From left to right Stachys byzantina, Alcea rosea 'Nigra', Scabiosa 'Butterfly Blue', Sedum spectabile 'Iceberg', Scabiosa caucasica 'Perfecta Alba'.

                  I don't usually do impulse buys but our Local Spar had a tray of Saracenias, Sundew and Flytraps and couldn't resist a couple.
                  Not sure whether they would be better off outside or in the conservatory but food supply may not be as plentiful as outside.

                  A couple of additions to the front of the exotic bed for a bit of extra colour.

                    @strongylodon Nice pitcher plants, mine live outside from spring through to the first frosts then get moved into a cold greenhouse. Many are frost hardy though.

                      Thanks for that @NigelJ, They would be better off outside but I'll have to make sure they don't dry out while we are away for a week next month.

                        @stronglydon mine live in washing up bowls packed with chopped sphagnum moss. You could put them into pots or outers with no drainage and stand in the shade.

                          I don't often go to Wilko as the nearest one is 14 miles away......but needed other things over that way today - so, any excuse..... Got 2 lots of 6 modules of bedding petunias, 6 for £2. They look very healthy and happy. Also got a bag of vermiculite and 2 grey Clever Pot troughs which were on offer. Their compost was also cheap, but I've been taken in by cheap compost in the past so decided not to chance it. On the way home I went into local garden centre to pick up 2 Peppa Pig gardening books (for National Childern's Gardening Week, donations to Save The Children) and just couldn't not buy any plants so came away with Salvia farinacea blue & white. Still working at clearing weeds before I start the fun planting out stuff.

                            I got to my favourite Garden Center today but they only had Yellow Hibiscus which I have in two shades so we got the Mandevilla T'other Half wanted only they didn't have the mixed pot so we had to get three. :rolleyespink:

                            We got ..
                            * Begonia hybrid "Summerwings"
                            * 2 x Pelargonium pelatatum Bright Pink
                            * 2 x Pelargonium zonale Peach
                            * 2 x Lantana Yellow / Fuschia
                            * 2 x Lampranthus Purple (wanted Orange)
                            * 4 x Portulaca Umbraticolata
                            * 3 x Mandevilla Pyramid Red, White and Bright Pink

                            Pina2 4 Jun.jpg

                            The Mandevilla will all be put in one large pot we are removing a Schinus Molle (Pink Pepper Tree) from. Have never seen it before but the White and Pink ones have shiny leaves and double flowers, just stunning.

                              I will get replacements from the company next week which is nice as I in fact bought via Amazon and should have complained to them rather than contacting the nursery. I wanted to give direct feedback rather than just leaving a rubbish review on Amazon.

                              I like the "Good luck" bit :heehee:

                                A good selection of plants to spread around the garden. Some of them I will pot on ready to go in my wild/cottage garden area which I will hopefully cleared by the autumn.
