Nicotiana sylvestris

Hi all. I've grown some Nicotiana sylvestris from seed but I've got a feeling it's a bit pointless planting them out now? Will I be able to overwinter them in the greenhouse? Thanks in advance.

 

I have never tried to overwinter them in the greenhouse. Down here they quite often come through the winter.
As they grow quite rapidly I'd be inclined to plant them out and see how they do.
If you keep them in the pots they will rapidly outgrow the pots.

@mazambo please do plant them out. They really take off quickly once in the ground and talk about self seeding- they are very prolific! I have lots of white ones popping up in my garden from last year's planting. I only grow the coloured ones in pots because over here the fragrant white ones grow to about 4 feet high. I have never had one overwinter but then again, look at my zone!

 

Planted most out, just kept a couple of small ones I'll give a go at overwintering.

 

We got 2 in a pot much like yours about a month ago - they are planted out and now starting to shoot up nicely.
