Don't forget to look over your shoulder, what you're doing is illegal without permission. :)

I am liking your Asters @Alisa they look great you should be really pleased with how well they've come out, its been a while since I've grown aster from seed.

Nice and colourful @Upsydaisy :blue thumb: what's this revamp / border plans then ? Its easier to move them on paper than in the ground, but I do to say myself and to others can always move it later .

I wouldn't get disheartened with failed cutting @MrDigwell nothing to lose if they fail, if you are getting more than 50% to strike you are doing well . Quite a few plant root in water I use jam jars

Its not 100% effective but quite a few plants can root this way - Fuchsia - tender salvia like amistad are easy - hydrangea - pelargoniums sometimes - nepeta easy to root water / compost and probably lots of others it worth a try .

              Thanks @Perki .

Just trying to make things a little easier for me really, just in case my year long dodgy leg, knee and resulting back issues don't improve....and remain....well painful and dodgy!!
Just waiting for my MRI results but whatever the outcome an easier to maintain garden sounds very appealing....just hope my revamp doesn't result in the opposite!! :heehee:
I think my pics are misleading as I'm not a very knowledgeable / competent gardener. It's just luck...and to be honest there are many times I'm amazed at how well things turn out!

Anything that needs a lot of mollycoddling or staking and goes floppy in a breeze is going and ones that require too much watering ...am I asking for too much?

Can't help you there @MrDigwell, I just take a chance and taking cuttings all year round, it's a case of trial and error.
You'll be surprised at how easily Fuchsias root in water....they'll be no turning back, you'll be hooked!!

I agree, and you can't do much about it because most things are still growing. I have been cutting some perennials back though.

It depends how overgrown it is @Victoria. I like the way my Clematises are so overgrown they're scrambling through everything, but other things look tatty. However it has a more natural look when it gets a bit out of hand and can look quite pleasing

On the fence with red flowers is the Erythrina crista-galli.
In the black pot is Brachychiton acerifolium, could possibly be from seed you sent me many years ago.
