It's been a strange year in my garden. I have three Eryngium bourgatii Sea Holly plants, which should be blue and silver in summer. Mine are brown, and look dead. They have been watered.

I have a Cotoneaster, which this year has been full of flowers and now has lots of berries. It's just been green the last five years.

The winter flowering honeysuckle has not flowered for four years, and now has pink flowers.

My flower planting this year went well, I grew Marigold from seed, and bought bizzie Lizzy, Salvia and Antirrhinums, which are still flowering. Although the Kilimanjaro Sunrise from Thompson and Morgan, has no berries or flowers, I am told it will have next year. I live in hope...

You haven't entered your area in your avatar box John so it's difficult for us to make comparisons in plant performance. Here in my part of Scotland it's been a dry summer and that's been good for growth of the young shrubs I have, although I've had to water almost every week. The few roses and Lonicera haven't done very well though, but that may be due to the long cold winter previously. We'll see what next year brings. :)

I had a Sorbus decide to flower again early September so I had white flowers and orange berries at the same time. Quite pretty really.
Overall things got off to a slow/late start, but have just about caught up. Amici zygomeris has made 7ft as has the Dahlia imperalis as typical. The Impatiens and others benefited from damper weather in June and July.
Dahlias were late into flower, but will keep going until frosts; unless wind blows the tops off.
Salvia Amisted has flowered prolifically since May, benefited from being the greenhouse until then.

          Hi Sheal.

I am in Norwich, Norfolk. Could you please explain how to show my location. I am having a little trouble grtting round this website.

I have a honeysuckle on my garage wall, which has been in flower all summer. May be a little warmer here.

          Many thanks

              Hi Upsydaisy.

I see my name, under a graphic of a circle with an arrow. I click on that, and see a black panel with my name, Profil page, my photos, and how long I have been a member.

              Nothing shows my profile.

              HELP!!!!

Its not been a good growing year here in Kent, in my view.
It was very cold for at least a week in February, subzero NE winds were worse than the actual frost.
It then carried on really cold most of the spring with the persistent NE wind only slowly getting milder.
Plants struggled to shoot and the grape vines were very late, as was most of the less hardy kinds of plants.
Albizia was well into June before anything like leaves were forming.
Lagerstroemias started so late that now, nearly October, the flowers are just starting to open.

Some veg did well, like courgettes and onions, but potatoes and tomatoes all went down with blight in around late July, due to the very wet June and not much better July.
We had about one week of proper summer in July before August came along and was a bit indifferent.

So all in all a bit of a poor year of growing IMO.

                  Hi Upsydaisy.

Somehow I have a panel that says”update your status”. Under the profile. Not clear what that will do.

I've tried phone and lap top and I get the same come up when I tap on my name on both devices.
That is a menu of things to look into, personal details being one of them.
