Cordless Lawnmower Recommendations

    Hello all

    I hope you are all well.

    I am looking for a New Cordless Lawnmower to replace my Flymo Turbo Compact 330 which is now over 20 Years Old and not performing too well.

    I have approximately 32sqm of Lawn so not huge.

    I do not want something that looks like a Toy which I will need to replace in a few Years, also, being 6'4" it looks as though I am pushing around a Tortoise.

    I would rather Pay more and get Quality.

    I would prefer a Cutting Width of 33cm or so as that is what I am used to, also, it allows me to get finished sooner as I do not like to be out the Front for long, if I can help it.

    I do not want Stripes so having the ability to remove any Rear Roller or Disable it is a necessity.

    I have been looking at the following Brands:

    Bosch
    McAllister
    Hayter
    Honda

    Does anyone have any suggestions as to which Brands are Best and which ones are best to avoid?

    I have not Bought a New Lawnmower in some time so any suggestions or advice is welcome.

    I'm surprised you haven't had any replies yet Kevin. I know there's a number of members that have cordless mowers.

        The Gtech CLM50 is a cracker, but at £600 it should be. 420mm cut, 50 L grass box.

        The Gtech CLM50 does indeed look like a good Mower, unfortunately, with a 420mm Cut Width it is too large for my needs.

        What about a Stihl RMA235? They have a good reputation for quality, and the 235 has a 33cm cutting width. Just what you are looking for, perhaps?

          I'll try to remember what battery mower my son has. I am seeing him on Thursday and will ask then. I have used it once and recall it was very lightweight compared to my petrol rotary. I know he likes it and was recommended it by his father in law.

                I had a Bosch, but it went to the big garden in the sky (or the local tip) back end of last year. Interestingly enough, I know three other people that had Bosch the same age and they all went fut at the start of this year too.

                I didn't go for cordless (because, skint) and strayed away from Bosch this time, purely as some reviews were not that favourable or the models were priced more than I wanted to spend - I bought this fellow in the end:

                Very, very impressed with it and if I am completely honest I actually prefer it to the Bosch as it is lighter, cuts just as well (if not better) and seems to roll easier.

                They are essentially the electric brandname of Briggs and Stratton.

                  It looks like Bosch is off the list as I do not want to risk reliability, thanks @Fat Controller

                  I have been trying to find Makes that are available relatively Locally so that I can see them in Person.

                  In fairness @Kevin Cowans, my Bosch was at least 10 years old if not more, so reliability wise I cannot complain really. ~

                  Mountfield are a long standing brand - whether they are the same company they once were, I am unsure, but they used to be quite well known for their mowers

                    That would sure be the best thing - I did have a brief look in the likes of Homebase and one garden centre and it is quite surprising the difference in the weight and feel of these things. I would imagine the battery ones could be quite heavy if not well balanced.
