Advice needed for poorly hosta and non flowering buddlhia please!!

Please have a look at my two photos. The buddleia is supposed to be a dark purple but hasn't flowered but the pink one next to it has? Both planted last year.
The hosta looks like it's dying . Planted about 2 months ago. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks for reading x

 

The buddleia isn't to far off from flowering a matter of days.

The Hosta has probably suffered from the recent hot weather , they do prefer a more shaded site with moist soil .

 

Hi yes there are two buddleias in the first photo.

 

The Buddlei appears to be flowering with lots of buds forming.

Hostas, yeah never touch them myself, cool damp and bright light.
They hate drying out as has been said.

I'd cut the flower spike off and move it into the shade, but doubt it will do anything much this year now.

 

Hi thank you for that. I don't usually go for hostas but was attracted to this one. Complete novice as everyone can tell :-( . Will be moving it this week .

 

Hello Joo, don't be disheartened Hostas do tend to look scruffy after flowering, and it certainly wouldn't have liked the hot, sunny weather recently. As pete said, cut off the flower spike and the badly-burnt leaves, move it into the shade and give it a weak liquid feed (look for a high 'N' ratio in the NPK). It might grow some new, pristine leaves
