Hi I suspect many have noticed you cannot get hold of chempac no2 unless you are lucky to live by a garden centre who do not do delivery. Coud not make out why everyone is out of stock as now is the time to useit. Am I last in buying? I thoght so until I read they were taken over by another company in late 2024. If they do not get their skates on it will be too latr generally to sell it. Does any one know a good alternative theyhave used. It isnot for vegetables but flower roots like clemetis, fuchsias etc. Thanks for any input.

Chempac 2 is high in Nitrogen and used to promote leaf growth - lettuce, spinach, grass etc.
If you want more flowers/fruit, then Cempac 4 is what you need.

A good all-purpose feed that would work well for you would be Phostrogen.
It's been around for decades and and is my go-to fertilizer.

@trogre - I also use Chempak 2 on my young fuchsia and dahlia cuttings feeding weakly, weekly prior to moving onto Chempak 3 and/or 4 later on in the growing season. As I have a small supply, I hadn’t noticed it was difficult to obtain.

Competition dahlia growers often use Elixir Garden Supplies. I haven’t used it myself, but I see they do one with seaweed extract. NPK is 18:9:9 compared to Chempak’s 25:15:15.

Thompson & Morgan purchased the Chempak range of fertilizers back in 2010 from a mail ordering company. From 2024, I heard they had stopped selling the chempak range of fertilizers to garden centres, so your only source now of purchasing chempak will be through Thompson & Morgan website. Some garden centres might still have surplus stock, but once it's gone, it's gone.

I worked for Phostrogen in the early 80s and was their 'consumer relations' person. Nice to see it still recommended.

There are several Chempak products listed on Amazon, supplied by different sources.

I have been looking for Chempack potting base fertilizer. No GC seems to have any now. I spoke to the manager of one GC today, and he confirmed that they seem to have "lost their way a bit" since being taken over by T&M. I didn't realise they had gone mail order only.
