    Good evening all. Well my head is still buzzing from my trip to M&S this morning. I wandered around the shop for about an hour and I can honestly say that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING attracted my attention or leapt out at me! I used to love browsing in Marksie's but after today - never again. I only wear jeans/trousers and silly me for not knowing that they come in several varieties. Examples included cargo pants; boyfriend jeans, palazzo pants, carrot leg pants, cigarette leg pants, wide leg pants (which in one leg had enough room for both my legs!) and what I would name pulled through a hedge backwards pants full of rips and tears on the knees. As I am somewhat vertically challenged, I need either extra short (unobtainable today - I actually think you can only get those online) or at a push cropped trousers which are full length on me. Holding 'short' pants up to myself left pools of denim round my feet. Wishing to get my vouchers used up I bought earrings - no problem with sizing or colour! QED
    @Fourmerkland, I am one who always likes to look up reviews about any company I have dealings with so I did similar with the two glaziers you mentioned and I have to say that Anglian do not get as good reviews as Britelite. One contributor to Trust Advisor slated Anglian for their extortionate quotes. Not sure if this helps you but I know which one I would choose from those two.

      @Butterfly6 what fun you will have tonight. Those school productions always bring a smile to my face. Hope you have had a productive day in the garden @Debs64 and you too @Busy-Lizzie.
      @Penny_Forthem it sounds like they are pulling out all of the stops for you - excellent!
      @Ergates, I read YOUR post about the horse poo and the muffins and I swear I could actually smell horse poo! Either that or its Cricket! :biggrin:

          Evening folks.

          I’ve got ‘secateur-thumb’ after trimming off a massive pile of Pyracantha today. I have so much garden waste it’s getting silly, but if my second bin materialises and I do a tip trip then I’ll be square. I am already composting much more this year (slightly obsessed).

          Enjoying the lighter evenings. Oo that reminds me, I must check if my solar string lanterns are working tonight.

          Take care all.

              Gardening was OK today but heavy, thanks @Ladybird4. Soil here is heavy clay. Since 2021 I have been digging in compost. Dug in more today. It's still quite wet which doesn't help. Did the broad bean and potato beds but haven't planted anything yet.

              One good thing was the sunshine.

              We did the weekly shop this morning and bought 7 more bags of compost.

                    We did ask neighbours, but got such a range of replies, it didn't really help.
                    We know both Anglian and Britelite have done work locally, including along our road.

                    We actually used Anglian in both our previous homes, and we're very pleased on both occasions. The last ones had been in over 20 years, without any problems whatsoever.

                    @Ladybird4
                    I know what is written on Trustpilot, and I keep an open mind both ways.

                    Interestingly, for the sealed units, when taking Britelite's window quote and dividing by 10 for the 10 year guarantee, and taking Anglian's quote and dividing by 15 for the 15 year guarantee, then dividing each by the number of windows we aim to have replaced, Anglian works out at about £1 per window more expensive, per year.

                        Double dancing was a good workout tonight and included a fiendish new figure in bacchata which we will have to practice at home to get right. Next class in on the 22nd as our region of France has its 2 week Easter (spring) break from next Monday.

                        Wind stopped play for me outside today and it's still blowing a hooly now. Not nice but I do need to get my fartichokes, potatoes and remaining onions planted in the next 2 roots days so I hope it calms down.

                        @Ladybird trousers and jeans come in all shapes and sizes these days. I make my own trousers for day wear and dancing but inherit Possum's old jeans which I wear for schlepping about the house and garden. When she does buy new jeans the range of shapes and lengths is boggling and it takes ages as she tries each one. Ripped jeans are definitely passé now.

                          I've just interrupted my sleep in order to read the results of my sleep test, which I'd forgotten came through yesterday. Forgotten in the heat of trying to sort out the double glazing matter.

                          While I can't understand all the terminology they have used to explain the results, it would appear that they are saying that I don't have sleep apnoea after all, despite having been given the CPAP machine to use last September.

                          What appears to be the main disturbing issue (other than my seizures) is my VNS, put in, in 2005, to try and reduce my epileptic seizures. You would have thought the hospital would have done an overnight sleep study BEFORE diagnosing me with sleep apnoea!!

                          I'm due to have my VNS replaced again later this year, as the battery is running low - and there is the consideration as to whether the VNS was ever actually being of benefit!! But do I risk it being turned off to find out? I could end up with more major seizures!!
                          :rolleyespink::rolleyespink:

                          Am I going crazy, or making sense this early in the morning!!?

                          @Penny_Forthem , are you being kept awake with the pain? Or are the painkillers working all night okay?

                          I can hear the small birds twittering. Maybe I'll get a little more sleep!!

                            Hello there @Fourmerkland I hope you have managed to get back to sleep but I do know that is a persistent nuisance for you. I think that I would feel as apprehensive as you and would hope for a clear explanation from the specialist. I've just had my grocery delivery and got it all stacked away. Now for a good mug of Yorkshire tea and some cereals with blueberries and bananas.

                                Good morning to you all!

                                Well! It must be spring! Yesterday was glorious and today is grey with rain forecast later.I will have to cover the wrought iron table and chairs I lugged out yesterday. Windy too!

                                @Penny_Forthem I hope you are at least comfortable and the painkillers are keeping most of the pain at bay.

                                I hope all you gardeners have a good day!
