    Good morning all.

I hope @Penny_Forthem makes a good and speedy recovery.

That is a very good reading for a vigneron @Tui34.

I finished weeding the veg garden and strimmed the flower bed edges yesterday and OH mowed. The garden is ready to leave but I expect it will be full of weeds when we get back.

I'm going to have a cup of tea with a gardening friend this afternoon. She hasn't been well so hasn't been to the recent meetings.

Well I got my hour in the garden. Youngest daughter has moved to a new house with a shady border so I have been splitting and potting up
Hostas and hardy geraniums plus a very pretty violet ready to pop in to fill the gaps. She likes to garden but with a four year old and a baby in the way her time is limited so it’s easy maintenance plants for now.
Off to work now shouldn’t be allowed when the sun is shining

@Debs64 your ahead of me. My hardy geraniums are very sturdy now, no buds yet. some hosta spikes I have seen about. I have some hardy geraniums planted in tree stump holes doing well. and one in a hanging pot that I leave out all winter, its doing well. Raining all day now. BTW I usually give away lots of my hardy geraniums just to keep them from running over other areas. One geranium I have thinks it can cross the sidewalk, LOL. thank goodness I am retired now. Have a good day at work.

It’s a pity you’re so far away @redstar as we are in need of some hardy geraniums at the moment and they’re not in the garden centres yet. We’ve created a space where some other plants haven’t done too well but one little hardy geranium has! The site would be perfect for a few more.
I currently have an ear infection and am blocked out of the hearing world at the moment ( which is most uncomfortable) so am staying indoors where it’s quiet.
Hope @Penny_Forthem is doing okay today and will soon be home in her own home and bed.

Each Hardy Geranium group I have which seem to grow in mound circles of about 2 inches high, they have spread out 3 feet easy, all directions. Just in one bed area I have 5 circles of them. Two in the front, should take a picture of the one that things it can get to the other side of the sidewalk, its funny, very healthy just laying on the sidewalk, I walk around it, it has about 5 inches more to go to get to the other side. In my area they seem to last well even with snow on top of them, and in the fall the leaves tinge a little red on the edges, so pretty.
Yes, I usually put it out on a Neighborhood site free come get. So I rotate from mound to mound pulling out and just giving away. Telling them how to plant if they don't know. I also have abundance of Virginia Blue Bells, have given some of those away. and shipped some to friends in the USA. This year noticed some Virginia Blue bells escaped to other beds, its ok with me.

Ear infections are a pain. is it because of water left in the channel, or something else. For water/moisture, Swimmers ear drops help.

Hi everyone. Another sunny day today but so far i've been busy with the weekly shop - 3 shops as hunting for 100% cocoa powder for cakes i'll be baking nexy week for the garden fête and it's apparently in short supply after price hikes. Then a late lunch and now a catch up on news and chat before going down the garden.

I've bought some new trays for sowing more seeds and need to water my nursery as the heavy rain forecast for the weekend and next week has turned to clouds with a dribble on Saturday and a bit bigger dribble on Tuesday but no gardening for me next week. patch on Monday, baking on Tuesday and Friday for the plant fair on Saturday and Wednesday and Thurday I'm in Nantes for a salon - L'Amour du Fil - where I'm signed up for classes on both day and some retail therapy in between.

I hope you're feeling better now you've had your arm splinted @Penny_Forthem and that your ear infection clears soon @Songbird plus your cold @lizzie27.

Enjoy your time with friends, colleagues, family, garden as applicable to all.

A beautiful day here, and actually much warmer than the past few days. Breakfast out, followed by a walk, and still had some energy for gardening when we got home. OH got the pressure washer out, and was pleased to find it was still working. I repotted a little maple sapling. We had a beautiful mature maple in the front garden, had been there since we moved in 20 years ago, but it sadly died a couple of years ago, after a very bad drought. I found a couple of self seeded babies in the lawn, and have been nurturing them ever since. This one is over 18 inches tall now, and coming into leaf. Very happy that we still have a reminder.
I’d bought OH a kneeler in the garden centre, it acts as a stool one way up, and turns over to become a kneeler, with a padded bit, and very useful arms to help with pushing oneself upright. I had thought it would be mainly useful for him when he is painting and fixing skirting boards inside the house. However, I took it out to use while I cleared the grass and weeds from around the young silver birches in the lawn. Very convenient indeed! I usually end up bending over to do jobs like that, with the inevitable aching back. This was a lot easier and more comfortable, I did have to stop myself after clearing round three plants, otherwise I would have probably overdone it.
Hope @Penny_Forthem has been able to get home, and relax in the sun.

Evening all. I was really sorry to hear about the sad time you had @Tui34. Unfortunately funerals are bound to have this effect - however much you convince yourself you are braced and ready for it. How lovely that the grandchildren were included and were able to make their contributions. A very apt reading too. I am a big fan of Richard Osman's books. Enjoy your evening with your good friend from Montpellier.@lizzie27, my camassias are about ready to burst open. If you remember from last year I had established blue camassias and I bought white ones hoping they may flower together. I will be watching carefully to see if this does occur.

Work pretty busy but next week will be a lot worse I know Easter is always a bad time. Planning a day in the garden tomorrow to ease the tension

@Debs64 I take it the hand over of your daughter's place went smoothly after your and your OH's hard work? Now she can just concentrate on that tiny new person and her little 4 year old.
@Obelix-Vendée the cocoa crop has been blighted with disease and bad weather so there is a major shortage hence the price hikes.

I am signing out for this evening. Had a great game of Canasta today and the weather was so nice to just mooch around in the market before going to play cards. I hope tomorrow is like that. See you all around in the morning.

@redstar , I’ve noticed that our hardy geraniums are….just that really. Hardy ( and very good). They disappear over winter, seem to never want to re-emerge and then, suddenly, they start growing at a pace and they certainly do spread. Yours sound wonderful and will make an impressive display when in flower. We have teeny tiny ones and then the more normal larger blue ones but they’re such reliable plants. That’s why we want some more for our spare patch.
@Ladybird4 , don’t have ear ache, just total block out of sound and now tonight my ear and surrounding area has gone numb :rolleyespink: Doctor said it was a build up of pressure behind the air drum which also looked cloudy. Treating it as an infection first then onto other investigations if it doesn’t clear up by next week. Hey ho, joys of growing older…….:thud:
