Good morning early risers - probably @Ladybird4 at least.
,@Penny_Forthem how are you coping today? Still incarcerated? Wishing you well and a fast recovery.
I can hear the blackbird in the hedge outside. A lovely sound!

Good morning all. Warm and bit windy. I decided not to go to the cottage today. I'm still tired from repairing fence two days ago. I went to GC yesterday, and just wondered around. Of course that few things ended in my basket. My pets are all fed and it's time for my tea.
Dear @Tui34, my only weapon against weeds is my trustworthy hoe.

Got it in one @Fourmerkland! A very good morning to you and @Ante1. I just love the dawn chorus at this time of the year and it is predominantly blackbirds here @Fourmerkland, though I do have a robin who thinks he's Placido Domingo. @Ante1 it is strange how plants seem to leap at us in GC. Good to see you popping by @Penny_Forthem and I hope that you are recovering well. The worst bit must surely be over now. First thing this morning I have to make a gluten free Devil's Food cake for Tea/Coffee morning tomorrow - Palm Sunday - and then the garden!

Morning @Ladybird4, and not only plants. There are seeds, pots(who needs more pots), and few more things. Today will wright Easter cards and send them later. My sister called my yesterday and told that she will come in May for two weeks. I'm looking forward, mostly because there will be a lot of work at cottage. She might not be happy. :roflol:

Good morning all, sunny here again this morning aren’t we having a wonderful Spring? Walk with my sister then it’s garden time for me, I want to clear paths and generally tidy up and I have tomatoes to pot on and more seeds to sow.
@Ladybird4 the move was difficult but she is settling in and we are planning a trip to GC, she wants a vigorous climber for a shady wall. Any suggestions? It’s a small garden and has to have a washing line and children’s toys and a seating area so not a lot of space for beds, a tiny lawn is planned to replace horrid astroturf. I am thinking pots and climbers for colour but I need a proper look, the only decent sized bed seems to be mostly shaded but I do like a challenge and of course it all needs to be fairly easy maintenance.

                Good morning to you all!!

A peeping sun although a cloudy overcast day is predicted.

I would like my sister to spend a couple of weeks with me as she is an avid gardener!! @Ante1 Their garden looks like the botanical gardens!!! The alpine climate in Queenstown seems ideal.

Hopefully home today @Penny_Forthem but rest up. Hmmm!

A trip to the tip this morning - there will be a queue as it has been closed for 6 months to the public.

I wish you all a lovely sunny gardenable Saturday!

                  Good morning all.

@Ergates OH and I both have those garden stools/kneelers. They are a Godsend. I find it hard nowadays to get up from a kneeling position.

It rained in the night, cloudy now. Rain is forecast for the next 2 weeks in Dordogne so handyman won't need to water for about 3 weeks. I hope we get some good weather after Easter when my daughters come to Norfolk. It rained in the night and is cloudy now.

Seems daft to go to the SM when we go to the UK on Monday, but I'm nearly out of milk, loo rolls and cooking oil. Haven't done a weekly shop this week as we had plenty of food from the Grand Frais and the Market.

Good morning all, I'm taking it easy today as I have spent the past few days renewing the Allotment shed roof. I was going to refelt it in Autumn but found thst the roof boards were soaking wet and rotten at the edges. So it has needed a complete new roof. I won't bore you with all the ins and outs but as usual it wasn't as straightforward as it should have been. I had help from an Allotment neighbour, I couldn't have done it without him. Lots to do in the garden at home now.
                    Best wishes to all.

@Debs64 your daughter could go for a climber like Parthenocissus henryana (Chinese Virginia Creeper), Parthenicissus tricuspidata (Boston Ivy) or even a pretty variegated ivy. @Busy-Lizzie, I am another one who owns one of those gardening stools. I find it useful in the house too. My cake is done and cooling now so I'm off into the garden, though I am expecting a delivery of regal pelargoniums this morning. Pleased to read that you have got your shed roof sorted @Allotment Boy.

Hey folks - happy Saturday to all.
Bonus weekend of dry weather so will try to finish some garden jobs and keep the washing line busy. Just done SM run and had brunch. Why are most of the eggs white shelled at the moment? They are really good but MIL says she doesn’t like the look of them.

Have a good day all. Hope you are released home @Penny_Forthem.

@Songbird , my hardy geraniums do not disappear at all in the winter, I have seen them peeking through the 2-3 inches of snow. And if a deep snow fall, when snow melts there they are. I have blue hosta between them, the combination is beautiful when they bloom.

                                That's good @Penny_Forthem.

It is grey here and cool and the air is wet. I've been down to the polytunnel to check all my babies and set the sprinkler on the "nursery" in the roofless barn as proper rain has be postpned a few days. Looks like rain all day for our plant fair which is a pity but may well change in the next week.

I have been virtuous and cleaned our bathroom and bedroom, cooked our Saturday lunch (Englsh breakfast) and am about to make a cake for tomorrow once I've had another cuppa. The gardening club committee gets together in the morning to prepare the Achards (pickled veggies) for the hot sausage or belly pork baguettes we sell for lunch at the fair next Saturday.

Then we have a pot luck picnic lunch together and members arrive at 2pm to help prepare the décor. This year it's sempervivum etc presented in tea cups, colanders and so on. I manage the cake stand and usually spend 4 days baking for it but I'll be in Nantes 2 days this year for a patchwork expo and some classes so some intensive baking on Tuesday and Friday.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their day, gardening or not, as the case may be.
