Yawn Yawn Wakey Wakey 2025

Morning from a rather damp, chilly Wales.
I was rearranging my side of the bed at 3am. I have been sleeping propped against a back rest, but I needed to lie flat last night. It was a tricky manoeuvre one handed, but I eventually got comfy. My dear hub stirred not a jot, though he muttered this morning that he'd not slept a wink!
Then he went back to sleep!
I must organise a few things for this week, but other than that, not a lot on today.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, I heard earlier about the passing of Pope Francis and then had a phone call from my brother telling me about the death of his friend who was the secretary at his Church. I thought he had rung me about Pope Francis but he hadn't heard that so all in all it has been a bit of a meh weekend. Sorry, whinging again.

 

@AuntyRach, I meant to say that I love your picture of the alpaca. They make some lovely noises too. I have never had an alpaca 'experience' but there is a place just round the corner from me that does walks so maybe I'll go and try it out.

Good afternoon everyone, slow start for us after hectic day yesterday. After driving elderly Aunt home last night, we watched the recording of the Grand Prix highlights as a way of unwinding, so late to bed. Looks like we had some rain overnight, but still not enough. Might venture to the plots later this afternoon, rain forecast for tomorrow-we'll see.

 

Greetings all. Another wet night and broken sleep. OH has decamped to the guest room for the duration as I tend to wake up about 2:30 and cough and splutter for 2 or 3 hours before falling asleep again. It's exhausting so I've had a lazy morning reading and dozing in bed.

The rain started teeming down again as we had lunch so I'm waiting for it to stop so I can go and check for any more babies that need potting on. Meanwhile I shall go and do the spice mix for our chicken curry dinner. Should be mostly dry tomorrow so a good time to weed beds, fill some gaps and get some bark mulch down.

No asparagus here @Tui34. The only green asparagus on sale on Friday was from Mexico and I don't like the fat white stuff. Happy to wait for local green.

Monday, cloudy out today. Back to tackling taxes, adding up stuff etc. Maybe later outside to do whatever.
Yes, I see the Pope passed away. I am not Catholic, nor did I follow him. But, cannot believe the negative comments about him on several Facebook threads regarding. On and on about how horrid he was. again never paid much attention to him while alive.

Afternoon all. It’s brightened up for a cuppa and potter outside after work. Only gentle pottering though as my back is aching. I’ve just re-potted a pelargonium for Dad and will check on my seedlings.

Not had a chance to get anything done in the garden today, except get all my nursery plants out for the day, water them, and return them under cover late afternoon.
Oh, and take a few photos for memories.
Now looking forward to some tea, and putting my feet up.

Evening everybody, so sorry to hear you've had another bad night @Obelix-Vendée, this virus is the pits if you've got the same one as we seem to have. We've been sleeping separately ever since we got home from our trip away on the 10th, just as I got better, OH got worse. I have to admit I do sleep better without him anyway!

Oh dear, my longer post which I saved as a draft seems to have disappeared. Anybody know how I can retrieve it please?

A very good morning @Ante1 and all arriving later. I am expecting a delivery sometime between 06:00 and 07:00 but they are very good with their updates and I get a text when they are here - unpacking my 'stuff'. After the dreary day yesterday I am hoping for a nicer day today. My mini dahlias need potting on.
