I was surprised to see this Geranium 'Appleblossom' Rosebud alive and blooming as thought I lost it a couple of years ago but obviously took a cutting. It is not as pink as I remember it, but hey ho. I am still pleased.

@Escarpment We have four purple/pink different coloured Lilacs, all double flowers and three whites. They were planted in 1953. We don't feed them at all but do water them at times like this.

Thanks . They front the part of our veg plot that we have let go wild (used to be where we grew root veg which we stopped doing quite some years ago). We have just left our rhubarb patch, I guess that's about 70sq ft, and our artichoke patch (Mrs Shiney uses the flowers for flower arranging).

Behind that are our blackberry bushes (70 years old) which we keep low to the ground and our fruit trees (somewhere around 100 years old) sitting in our wild area which is full of somewhere over 1,000 cowslips and primroses at the moment.

They're perennials, Meconopsis cambrica (same as the yellow ones) but seed freely. Just ask the neighbour for some seeds as they seed freely.

As the flowers only last a few days (they produce new flowers from the same plant all through the season) the neighbours may cut the dead flower heads off as soon as they finish instead of leaving some on to mature. So if you are friendly enough with them they may leave some on for you.

The easiest thing is to dig up new plants if they are spreading. They may even dig them and throw them away if they find them spreading too much.

By the way - the yellow version is the County flower of Merionnydd. :heehee: So there should be a lot lf them around you. Seed suppliers will sell them if the neighbours are not co-operative.
