@Ladybird4 an interesting conversation and a generous gesture.
I have found their sausages in Tesco so will give them a try.
Managed another tomato in its quadgrow pot and planted up some morning glory and Black eyed Susan, which I hope will reflect the Ukrainian flag.
Hub started the rail for me to get down to the deck by the stream. There are a lot of pots down which need TLC.

      Good evening all.

I'm cooling off after an afternoon spent under a golfing umbrella, weeding. The umbrella was sheltering me from the sun - there's still no rain! It helps to be very short, so I can crouch beneath the umbrella once I've stuck the handle in the ground. I guess I'm invisible to passers by...

Very generous of you, @Ladybird4 . And great that the company valued your feedback!

A large vixen appeared on the wildlife camera last night, which was a welcome change from the usual cats.

Good morning all. Yes, I know it's early, but my OH needs to be on her way to work, so "someone" was asked to make sure she got up in time!

I don't mind. I have a hospital appointment in London, and the patient transport pick me up about four hours in advance of the appointment time, so I need to be ready.

It'll take all day, so no gardening today. I look forward to your jokes, @Ladybird4

Happy International Families Day to you all. Good morning @Fourmerkland. Gosh you have a long day ahead of you. I hope that all goes well at hospital. Enjoy people watching and reading (if you take a book).

How absolutely fascinating to see the vixen @Liriodendron.Do you think she will be able to burrow under your shed. Imagine having little cubs gambolling about. That would be delightful. Well done on all of the work you are managing to do despite your recovering arm @Penny_Forthem. Could you class that as your physio I wonder???

              Good morning to you all!!

A very busy lot you all are, as am I!! I seem to be waking up later these mornings after interrupted sleep, faff around and then need to dash off.

I would murder a plate of ordinary english sausages @Ladybird4 The sausage here in France is delicious (depends where you buy it from) but a totally different taste from an ordinary sausage. I had a look at The Black Farmer and they seem to have a good and different range of tastes. What a lovely gesture on both your parts to donate products.

We have different tasting sausages down here @Obelix-Vendée Usually from the butcher or the markets. Flavours such as roquefort, then the well-known parsley/garlic, spicy, pimented etc. and of course the moroccan merguez - also best bought from the Hal-Al Butcher.

Tomatoes, peppers and augbergines are in the ground. The nights are cool - 10°C/11°C but the days are warm at around 21°C and sunny. We are expecting some hot weather over the next few days, then rain Monday and Tuesday. The basil has surfaced!! The first sowing of beans haven't but the second sowing has given 1 plant so far!! A lemon of a packet, I think.

I wish you all a lovely Thursday.

                Morning all!

It's just a tiny gap under the shed, @Ladybird4 , so no room for a fox. There's plenty of cover in the wood at the end of the garden and beyond, though, so she could well be living in there somewhere. We'll look out for cubs...

It's OH's birthday, so we're going for a walk in the oak woods round a nearby lake. Should be a good morning for it, before the sun gets too hot. Then we'll find somewhere nice for lunch. Of course, the delivery we were expecting yesterday is due today instead, so we'll need to direct the delivery person to the shed, which he can padlock afterwards.

Wishing you all a happy Thursday!

Ladybird. Not a chance, I still have almost a field to clear if he wants something to do. Anyway, he is going back to Canada in a few days time. Sadly. He also hammered 3 more poles into the obelisk which kept falling over every time there was a puff of wind. Note to self to keep clematis growing on it cut back more so it isn't top heavy.
We had a lovely day together, went back to my daughter for evening meal. I was banned from the kitchen so was able to sit in a rocking chair and eavesdrop on the two of them exchanging sibling teasing etc. It brought back memories from before we all moved to different parts of the world.

A gardening day for me today although I need to tidy the study as I have birthday cards and presents (off us and Great Grandma) lying around and granddaughter is visiting later. It’s her birthday on the 24th, when we will be on holiday together. My birthday is just before on the 22nd, so she has decided we have to have a joint birthday picnic on the beach and she will give me the menu when she comes round today. Whether this is just for information or means she wants me to do the baking, I’m not sure :heehee:

Emptied all my tulip pots yesterday so they are all ready for summer bedding. I also potted up some herbs. An early birthday gift, for me, off my sister. I was telling her about the herb collection you received, @Penny_Forthem, saying how lovely it looked. Then on Monday, a collection arrived here!

Have made a note to try the Blavk Farmer sausages too, you should be on commission @Ladybird4

We are on the regular route of the local foxes and I love to see them going through. We had cubs visiting each evening one ysummer and they use to play whilst Mum relaxed by the pond. We sometimes see and/or hear them playing in the garden at night. They seem to really like the box knot and jump in an out of the rings. They also have a couple of spots they push through so it has always had these little “doorways” in certain spots. I wondered if they like the foliage smell. The local cats sleep in the little spaces where the Celtic knots join. I shall miss all this when the box moth have had their way…

Sounds like you are having some quality family time @Goldenlily26

Hope everyone enjoys their day and hospital visits, birthday outings, afternoon shifts all go well

Morning; a bit more cloud today and a breeze.
Well, I have started doing my physio and, as predicted, it hurts!! But with his warnings of shoulder droops, muscle wastage and reduced movement ringing in my ears, I will be diligent! I can join a shoulder rehab class in a few weeks. I don't think he regarded my gardening efforts as 'proper' physio, @Ladybird4, more of a pastime!
I'm still slowly potting up my tomatoes, planting out seedlings and watering - and yet more watering. I have 5 large pots to plant up, which sit inside big blue ceramic pots on the deck. Lovely scented nicotiana, stocks and pinks, with petunias for a splash of colour. I still have to rely on OH for the lifting.
An early birthday gift, for me, off my sister. I was telling her about the herb collection you received, @Penny_Forthem, saying how lovely it looked. Then on Monday, a collection arrived here!
@Butterfly6 how lovely! Mine are thriving in this sunshine.
Happy gardening, lunches out, birthday celebrations and hospital visits.

@Penny_Forthem , many years ago I needed physio for a bad knee. When he asked about exercise I told him about gardening and the Allotments. He was very dismissive, something along the lines of "I don't think hoeing a few weeds counts as exercise " I challenged him to come to my plots, I said "keep up with me for a morning and then tell me it's not exercise". We even set a date '--- Needless to say he didn't turn up. ;)

Isn't that just typical @Allotment Boy! Obviously knows zip about gardening.
Good evening all. Been a lovely, busy day today. Plenty of time spent in the garden but still got heaps to do. I cannot believe that my Bestie's fortnight holiday is nearly over. That time has just flown by. She and her daughter have been blessed with all this lovely weather too. I am singing at another funeral tomorrow and @Debs64 we have all been asked to wear bright colours.
I am signing out for tis evening. I hope that you all have super evenings.
