Lovely blue penstemon from cuttings kindly given by @Michael Hewett a couple of years ago.

@redstar you mentioned a vine for hummingbirds - is it a type of lonicera? It's got a good flower colour.
Love the Zephyrine - she's Barbie pink but I always loved the scent!

I guess that is the fancy name for it. When I selected the plant, research etc. found that that particular one the hummingbirds love, and they do. It is a very nice plant, does not take over at all even after 15 years. no fragrance , has 3 fresh blooms in the season. Thanks for watching.

Mine has been flowering for a few weeks now, it never has masses of flowers, but it does produce intermittently over the summer.

@NigelJ I planted some Thalictrum bare roots last year and they put up a few pathetic looking leaves and then vanished; I was assuming my conditions just didn't suit them but a nice clump of leaves has appeared this year.

@Escarpment I hope your Thalictrum does well and returns year after year.
I think mine came from a stray seed in a packer of Aquilegia seed. Unlike Aquilegia it has shown no sign of self seeding.

@NigelJ you're lucky! I grew some thalictrum (can't remember which) from seed. Got about 6' tall with fairly boring flowers so pulled it out. Had seedlings everywhere for a few years!
