I assume it will be dying back soon, maybe a watering with Vine weevil killer soon would stop the grubs eating into the tubers over summer.

I treat all my pots twice a year with nematodes for vine weevil. I did notice some vine weevil in my garden about five years ago, and have used the nematodes twice a year ever since, and not seen any.

I have also used one of those wooden slatted vine weevil adult traps every year, though I haven't bought one this year yet as I am not sure how they work with lots of pots, there is only one of them so you can only put it in one pot at a time.

I was hoping that as that hole is in the middle of a leaf and not at the edge that it wouldn't be vine weevil.

I really don't want to use chemicals, as there seems to be evidence that even a soil drench could affect pollinating insects, who I like.

I will try to observe more and look to see if it is vine weevils, and if it is then I need to do more against them, preferably not chemicals.

Wrong shaped holes for v.w adults. More like mollusc damage.

I was hoping it isn't vine weevil.

It is Cyclamen purpurascens, which should flower in the summer. This plant has lots of seed heads on it, but I couldn't see any flower buds.

Wouldn't any vine weevil grubs have all turned into adults at this time of year?

Looking at some of my Strawberries ( in a container ) the VW adults are already about down here. The grubs only attack the roots/tubers.

I was just now having a look at my plants, and I found some slugs on another Cyclamen plant, and also on a pot with Pineapple Sage, and something has eaten holes in the Pineapple Sage almost identical to those on the Cyclamen purpurascens.

So my guess is it is only slugs, and not the dreaded vine weevil, on my Cyclamen purpurascens.

I would also say slugs/snails, Vine weevil damage looks like notches around the edges of leaves, whereas holes in the centre would be done by the rasping tongue of molluscs.
