Ooh, I do miss growing sweet peas! Too much for my back these days.

These bring to mind pink lemonade. :) It's cloudy, damp and windy this morning, so no bees, but usually they are enjoying the free bar!

Very nice @On the Levels . Much further ahead than mine, but I only sowed a few last autumn, as it's rarely worth it here. Most are spring sown, but they're doing well. I love the dark colours. I've grown Flagship this year and it's a good dark purple. Balmoral is another new one - a dark, reddish purple, and I have a few flowers on both of those varieties. I'm hoping they both have a good season. Slugs are the main problem for us when they start into proper growth.
Harebells are earlier here too @Jenny namaste, but that's because I sowed some new seed last year. Usually into July for them. One of my favourites. :)
Our toadflax is hoaching* with bees just now @Escarpment. Easy to split and move too. This was moved from another raised bed when I cleared a whole boundary earlier this year.

*hoaching has just been introduced into the Oxford dictionary. Result!

Self seeded hollyhocks in different parts of the garden. Love the variety of colours.

This Verbascum is a surprise. I don't remember planting it, but it might have been one of the cottage garden perennials I got from Morrisons a couple of years ago. A few of the things I planted promptly vanished and were assumed dead.

Knapweed - again, not sure where this has come from. I did buy wildflower seeds last year but individual varieties and not knapweed, but maybe the seeds were stowaways. All the purple blotches in the background are self-heal, I've got masses of it.

There is less than two weeks between these first two shots and the flowers will continue to grow quite a lot.

I photographed it from a low angle - it's not really as big as it appears! It is very pretty though.

If the fence behind it is not 1m but the usual 1.80m, and all the flowers which are reality, that Verbascum is a stunner and I wish it were in my garden (had chance to survive in a 45 degree angle due to bloody wind).

Fence is 1.8m but the photo only shows half of it - the little trellis behind is about a metre tall.

I have the same issues with the wind; my lilies in pots have grown very tall and I have had to strategically arrange larger pots around them to stop them blowing over.

Although they say that white Verbascum chaixii can grow up to 3ft high our ones easily grow 4ft and some grow 5ft.

We have hundreds of them as they not only look good but attract hoverflies by the thousand. Hoverflies are not only brilliant pollinators but also help keep aphids under control. So we have lots of them near our beans and other veg.
