Maybe you could put the books back on the table and stand the palm on top @Selleri :noidea:

I've been trying to avoid buying plants whilst it's so dry, but this one just had to come home with me. Sedum "Spot On" from Morrisons this morning, £4.

When I go to office I have to change buses on my way back and kill time browsing Morrison's garden section. This week I have invested in Blaccurrant bushes (£2 each) as I need the leaves for preserving my cucumbers, and today this lovely Drosera (£4) came home to mama. :)

          Drosera1.png drosera2.png

It looks healthy and robust and will live next to my miracle Venus Flytrap that has survived three years in a household formerly known as the Venus Valley of Death.

Good plant @Selleri - but it's a sarracenia. Surprised that Morrisons have it.

 Yes, it's Sarracenia! I was thinking of succumbing also to their Drosera so the name stuck in my brain

They had Sarracenia, Drosera and Venus Flytraps, all very healthy looking. £4 each.

Gosh, better than my Morrisons - I despair at the state of their plants within a week of arrival

I got one last year. Lovely and easy plant to care for, but... turned to be not my type, sold it :).

My Morrisons the same. It's a death camera for plants. And they must be transporting plants in the refrigerators, very often new arrivals are frozen.

My Morrisons is currently selling off lots of little metal troughs that did hold plant arrangements, but they've died. The troughs are still full of compost and bits of dead plant material, and they want £1.50 which seems steep to me. They are pretty small, and you're expected to carry home and dispose of the compost!

Good luck with the C. Pulcerrima, @Victoria , it's pretty dodgy in my experience. If you can get it going it's a nice plant.

@pete I couldn't get it passed 12" high even in the conservatory, tried a few times with seed from Tenerife.
