      I think you'll be pleased with them @Michael Hewett. I avoided them for many years because of their notoriety for vine weevil but have not experienced this in any in the ground. Their flowers are real magnets for bees.

        That's why I haven't grown many but I do have a few in the ground which I keep checking, but they seem to be growing well.

          They don't tend to be affected by v. weevil in the ground - just in pots. The ones I have in the ground are fine, but anything potted needs checked every so often.
          I believe you can add a thick layer of grit/gravel to the tops of pots to help prevent them laying eggs, but I haven't tried it. Needs to be about an inch thick.
