Yes, when I did the RHS course, our lecturer said, more than once, he could go into any of the gardens at any time of year and find Poa Anua, somewhere. However in my book it's being overtaken by Red Oxalis, especially in pots, very persistent. In fact at a garden we visited they told us they treated it as invasive, they weren't allowed to put it into the compost, but disposed of it separately.

One of these helps get it out.

I had seen that the lawn had come back, but thought you might think in advance. Also, I wanted to use this to show the gravel problem.
It's really difficult with a garden that big. I myself had thought about it after the drought in 2022 and swapped to plants that work in both worlds (the dry and wet summer). Maybe it's time to have something different than the good old English Lawn in a garden. They seem to be more brown than green over the years.

I would be loath to lose the concept of the lawn as that central pool of recalcitrant green with its adjacent boarders offering across the seasons the variegated ebb and flow of its flowering colours. There may be hope yet, among others, Wimbledon’s AELTC is helping to pioneer new drought-resistant seeds. Perhaps spiking machines will become as common as mowers in the shed; they help enormously. Then, there is acceptance, the lawn reflecting a struggle for an unattainable equilibrium which is constantly balanced between desire and frustration. Lessons to be learned from Zen gardeners, without being too neurotic about it: they feel one tiny leaf amongst a hundred thousand pebbles is one tiny leaf too many. Some will say Get a life! Some will retort Get a lawn! I just say Get along!

Nice bit of kit, if you can get it!
