I've used plant world seeds quite often @Thevictorian - I tend to buy "curiosities" so accept germination is sometimes variable. But not veg - I get those from Premier direct.
Surely cultivar specific seed of apples will not come true?

I have used Plant World Seeds for years and have also visited their garden in Newton Abbot, Devon. They are pretty good, especially for perennial flower seeds. I have had a few failures but mostly with things that are hard to germinate anyway such as alpines. When I had some tomato seeds which did not do well they refunded me. They also usually put in a free packet of something easy like Aquilegia with your order.

I bought a few veg and flowers from Moles Seed last year, no complaints.
The Sweetcorn seed came with a seed dressing already on them which I think, was to ensure good germination, they definitely grew much better and germinated more reliably than a couple of others I tried from Suttons and T&M.

That was what put me off a bit. It's a tactic less reputable sellers seem to use, safe in the knowledge that they won't fruit for years.
I don't know if self pollinating cultivars can be true if in a controlled environment but I've never heard of it happening.

I think plant world collect a lot of their own seed - their dierama mix produced quite a range! So I guess they're just saying where it came from.
