I presume the reference to 'commodity' with regard to women is to do with being able to have babies. A ridiculous terminology if that is the case. Straight forward English is the way to have a discussion.

Males and females take an equal part in producing the fertilised embryo. What happens after that depends on how the two people view their part in it. Neither is less than the other. I don't like sexism either way.
I'd say the toxic culture applies to both male and female. You don't have to be either one or the other to have been belittled or downgraded by society now or in times past. It would seem to me that the really OTT stuff (moticeably promulgated on SM ) by either gender bears a great deal of responsibility for all these Mental Health Issues which, lets face it, no one seems capable of dealing with to any degree. At times one could be forgiven for thinking that men and women were a completely different species and each require a different set of rules to adhere to in life. As for trying to pigeon hole every single person, I'd agree - we all seem to have to carry a "label" of some kind these days.
News from America:- The Supreme Court has ruled that Trump's imposition of tariffs was illegal. The vote by the judges was 6-3 - and six of the nine judges are Republicans. Trump brought the legislation in under what he called emergency legislation and the judges ruled that there was no such emergency and the tariffs can only be brought in by Congress.
I treat everyone the same despite who they are - until they show me that they don't deserve to be treated that way. All my employees, despite age or sex, were treated the same and paid the same way if they did the same work. After over 25 years being retired I still see a lot of them regularly and they are always welcome to pop in for a chat or a meal - or advice if they need it.
Precisely so and good for you - a fair and, dare I say, a normal way of treating people. It didn't always happen that way tho even as late as the 1980's and still many discrepancies even now.
Trump makes his own laws - often using the word Emergency when doing so. I gather he has promised billions of dollars towards the reconstruction of Gaza - part of his infamous Peace Plan. What's the betting that it will exclude Palestinians and resemble yet another rich tourist hot spot like Dubai.
Must admit I was as puzzled as @katecat58 re the "commodity" statement. I'm only in my 70's but I was brought up to believe that there were 2 "bits" involved ( however obtained ) in producing another human being. Takes 2 to tango as the saying goes - usually anyway
