I have been looking for tulips and keep coming across the same old varieties and not that many choices to be quite honest. I wondered if tulips were becoming a thing of the past. Then I came across this site.....
YouTulip.co.uk | We bring you the world famous Dutch flower bulbs.
Not only do they do the usual spring bulbs but they have a brilliant selection of dahlias. It has left me drooling and I know I'm going to go broke shopping here!

I see your point, just had a quick browse through their website........something I perhaps shouldn't have considering my lack of will power for buying something different for a space I don't have :D :thumb:

Oh, Catztails, just because you're a plant maniac doesn't mean you have to drag us other manaics into the same trouble as you!!:D:D:D Now look what you've gone and done, I looked at the site, got the shakes, dribbled at the mouth [do a lot of that anyway], and started planning where I'm going to put all of the bulbs on offer. Pass me my straightjacket please.:happydance::shocked::heehee:

I'm glad I've got my spring bulb order in! Call me an old grump, but to me a tulip has to be a 'normal' shape and red like Red Impression or Ile de France. I'll stretch to a white tulip like Inzell, but none of the other fancy shapes and sizes!

And as for pink Daffs., don't get me started!!

            :rolleyespink:

Yeah, point taken. You're dealing with more wildlife out there in good old Canada than we do here. Here's a suggestion, which you've probably tried, plant the bulbs at least a foot deep and when replacing the soil mix in a generous amount of pepper, you'll hear the sneezing and spitting from miles away.:D:thumbsup: They get wise to it after a while and don't bother digging:yess::D

This isn't fair catztail........Lovely tulips, I liked Shirley, such a delicate colour.

My problem, like a lot of companies, it doesn't look as if they will deliver to the island. Although it isn't mentioned in the details it's usually 'lumped' in with Ireland and the Channel islands for non-delivery. :(

I have some of the shirley ones and they are pretty. They start out with fairly little of the purple on the edge but as they age it becomes more pronounced. I have them mixed with purple prince and angelique I believe. You can see the combo in my back garden album. This year I am looking at getting some of the white ones with the red flames and mixing them with pure red and pure white. Actually I'm like Armandii and pretty much want them ALL !!!
