I have attended two Psychic events in the past two years and they have left me a bit sceptic of them. I have found some of the questions they ask the Audience are odds on to apply to quite a number of people at the event.. A Programme on the radio a couple of days ago made a statement that some Psychic's would use workers to mix with the audience and make conversations and listen into conversations . The Workers would do this prior to the show, mixing in waiting rooms/bars/etc, this would give the Psychic some ammo to work on... Has Anyone had experiences with Psychic's/Clairvoyants.?? Did they give satisfaction or did it leave you a bit sceptic.
Hi Music, well, my middle name is Thomas [look in the Bible!} so I've never believe in Ghouls. Ghosties and Thing that GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT. I think the so called "Psychics" have an easy target because the greater percentage of the people who go want to believe. I think it's a very cruel practice to prey on people who've lost love ones, [don't mean to sound trite], knowing they're possibly desperate to get a sign or something to help soften their grief. But. if people want to believe. I wouldn't attack that belief as I'm sure that belief helps them to cope.
there are people who are 'gifted' and who and who can 'see' things My mother is one of those ... and BTW, she never gives readings or makes any money from this and seldom discusses it .... in a nutshell, she knows about things before they happen so take it with a 'pinch of salt' and believe what you will
I think what Music is talking about,di is not people who are "gifted", and who am I to argue with that, but those people who pretend to be "gifted" and prey on people who are vulnerable.
In Italy there are a lot of people which make use of clarvoyants -not me -and spend even all their savings on them. That leaves therefore a lot of opportunity for those fake clarvoyants that would say anything in order to make money. So I do believe that there are many fakes, which don't sell maybe the future exactly how it will be, but a prediction which make sense based on the information gathered and on the type of person in front of them.
Although I'm a sceptic I don't dispute that there are things some people can do/see/feel that others can't - particularly as I have had proof of this . They may not necessarily be psychics or clairvoyants. What I do know is that these group psychic events are cons and generally work the way music and ARMANDII have said. When I used to work the markets a lot of people used shills to fool the punters - not me guv, honest!!! Some of the one-to-one sessions that a lot of people go to, work on a different basis where a lot of what is said can refer to almost anything or is so general that the punters intepret it the way they want. Others are much more professional and use NLP (Neuro-liguistic programming - which is a form of reading body language and interpreting peoples' reactions to the words and body language of the practioner) in order to gather information about the punter whilst talking to them. This is also used in sales techniques and business and is a recognised skill that can be taught. There are a number of other similar cognitive techniques that work very well.
My personal experience: approx 13 years ago, I was living in South Africa .... we went on a family outing to a place called Gold Reef City (an old goldmine that has been converted into a museum with restaurants, shops, funfair etc) there was a shop that advertised a clairvoyant .... for a laugh, I went in and was greeted by a very old lady (perhaps older than 80) .... so decided to have a reading she produced a pack of tarrot cards, and I proceeded to listen ... I was told that she saw me moving to a faraway country, and she saw loads of airoplanes .... she told me that I would have a robbery at my home .... she told me that my father would pass away within the next few months .... she told me that I would never be wealthy, but would always try .... etc etc (there was more, but trivial things) I left with a smile and thought I wasted my cash on the reading, as I was well settled and had no intentions of leaving (had a good job, nice house in a very good area and was always flush with cash) got home .... wheelbarrow, hosepipe and garden tools were missing (had a break in in the garden shed) several months later, during a lunch break at work, I saw an advert for a job in Cambridge ..... sent my cv as I could do all (plus more) than what was asked for 2 days later, received a call, had a telephone interview .... next day, received another call stating that the company in cambridge wanted to meet with me and they would pay my airfare/accomodation for the interview .... I was told that they would book and pay for the ticket and I could collect it at the airport when I present my passport told everyone at work that I was off to cambridge for a free 'holiday' for a few days and put in leave for 5 working days got to cambridge, had the interview and was told that they needed me to start immediately .... they also said that they would pay £5200 to relocate my family .... so, to cut a long story short, that is how I ended up in the UK wife had to sell the house, all the furniture etc .... My job entailed flying all over europe and teaching people CAD (computer aided design) .... so, that where the planes come into the story then to complicate things further, I resigned from that job after 2 years as I was never home (was away from home for 3 weeks a month and never saw the wife/kids) I then took a contracting job .... the company was next to the Luton airport (planes flying all over the place) sadly, my dad (who was in good health passed away approx 1 1/2 years after I came to the UK I'm always skint but am always trying to get rich and play the lotto every draw, have not even won a tenner in the past 6 months so, take it for what you will, but that was my experience with a clairvoyant
Having said that and in answer to the post above, I do believe there are some gifted people around which are more sensitive to the others and can predict the future or cure illnesses etc. Especially if they are closer to nature in their everyday living.
My thoughts entirely. I've never been involved with anything like that, but a friend of mine did. A woman in her early 30s at the time, and somewhat impressionable in my view, got asked this sort of thing: Is there a baby, somewhere, past or present who may be calling to you? Are you connected somehow with London? Is there a man named Pete somehow involved in your life? I think there's not a woman in the UK who couldn't find something to respond to in questions like that. And of course, in having responded, give the "psychic" a massive amount of further information to play with. Risible, except that it's worrying that anybody can fall for it.
:D I did curse someone once & he was right next to me, thats partly why I was cursing him, the other part was that he was standing on my fishing tackle. It worked after about 5 minutes of concentrating. Don't tell the girls though, they'll think we're a load of old Warlocks
I personaly don't see the point of it anyway, nobody predicts specifics, other wise they would be billionaires, they can't change the future. You can't plan anything with the information, so whats the point? A good example, my son in law originates from gypsies (the real ones). He says he has the gift. 4 months ago business was slow to say the least, but son in laws predicts a big job was on its way. Great, but how do I get it?, who should I contact?, how much should I quote for it? See what I mean? useless information!!
