What's Looking Good in March 2012

It's not much but its a start...

 

Out in the garden yesterday morning, one or two things which caught my eye:

My first daffodil is out.



A light drizzle from the night before had settled on everything, creating an attractive 'droplet' effect on the leaves of my remaining January King cabbages:

Thanks Aesculus, for me one of the joys of gardening is looking around and sometimes finding unexpected beauty, even in something as mundane as a cabbage.

 

Just a few snapped on chilly morning.

 

The first real highlight of the year for me are the Pleiones................

 

LongK, are they outside or in the conservatory?

I must confess that they are in the conservatory! I should have enough by the end of the year to try and hold some back to try outdoors next year.

 

I can almost smell that Hyacinth Woo.

The Dracunculus vulgaris is looking good, and looks big enough to bloom this year.




And the Eccromocarpus scaber burst into bloom a few days ago.............

 

Love the Draunculus (not the scent though ) , I had some in my old garden growing in a well drained trough, they did brilliantly for a number of years before I lost them. I would love to grow them again, just need to find somewhere that sells them...
