Beat me to it Meanie I was just going to suggest Lobelia Tupa, has to be my favourite for long flowering, mine didn't survive the last bad winter but did survive the previous one, good job I collected seed phew.
Of course you know what I'm going to suggest, lol, daylilies(no surprise there) there are lots of varieties now that rebloom, weather permitting, an established clump can flower for 6 weeks and if you get one of the rebloomers you get a second flush end of August/September,in a mild autumn I've had them flowering as late as November, tough as old boots no special requirements except a sunny spot, any soil, and even when not in flower the foliage isn't tatty looking, especially on the evergreens,I'm doing a pretty good sales pitch don't you think :heehee:

Simbad - don't be disheartened by the low viewing figure for your yabba dabba doo. It said 2 views before I looked and still says 2 views after looking, inspite of exiting GC and re entering to see if the number had been updated. I suspect a lot more people have had a look - who could resist. :D

Harry - I very much doubt that you'll find the Schizostylis this early as it's season is very late summer into autumn.
Maybe something annual for that space until they become available (usually August time around these parts)?
