    Hi Everyone

A friend is getting married in September and I would like to find perennials which will be in flower in September. The colour theme is cream. The idea is to have the plants in pots (and flowering) for decoration on the big day and then she can give them as presents to some of the guests. I got this idea from a friend who did this on her wedding day and it proved to be a lot of fun as guests do a "compare and contrast" every year on the progress (or lack of!) every autumn. Any ideas?

    Hallo Monscalara,
The choice that springs to mind for me, is Camellia Sasanqua. It flowers in Autumn and is fragrant too. Lovely shades to choose from -all delicate. Would need some protection from the harsher vagaries of Winter but a joy to welcome every year.
2 good nurseries:- Burncoose Nurseries and a local one near me called Rotherview Camellia Nursery,Hastings. I can certainly recommend the latter. All mine have come from there over the years,

      Hi Jenny

Thank you for that suggestion. (I love Camellias!) I live in Dublin so I will have to look around garden centres here or check if your suggested centres will deliver to Ireland.

I have a daughter in Co. Laoise. I know also that Ireland grows some very fine Camellias due to your "soft" rain !! Happy hunting,
      Jenny

Yes, our "soft" rain has practically destroyed all my flowering plants this "summer":wallbanging:
Wendy at Rotherville is kindly going to check prices for delivery to Dublin and then we'll wait and see what looks like it will be in bloom in September. Thanks for heads up

Jenny: turns out it would cost £75+ to deliver Camellias to Dublin - probably cheaper to relocate!

Gosh, transporting livestock is probably less expensive!
