Aloha Loli, WOO and all our lovely friends on here. Still very warm here must get a move on and take Amber for her walk. Not sure but think we could have some rain today. If it clears the air that will be fine. Have a good weekend all and look after those bad backs.

      Aloha!:wub2:

      Aloha woo, loli and everyone,

Loli, you're not doing that chilly, naughty walk in the garden again, are you? :heehee: (Sorry, I'd better button it! :roflol: :roflol:)

The sun is trying to break through now. I'll get out and start mowing when I think that the neighbours are up.

Friends coming for dinner tonight and Mrs Shiney has experimented with a dessert - blackberry and chocolate mousse and I'm not sure whether it will turn out :ideaIPB: or :yikes:.

      Have a great day

      Aloha!

          Aloha!

Shiney I am sure whatever Hannah does will turn out well............It is very warm here, just come back from walking Amber. We have had coddled smoked haddock and eggs tonight. Nice and light for the diet. I always share mine with Amber, eat half and then leave half for her................if we like a variety to eat then it makes sense that our pets like a variety to eat also. Sharing our meal means we both keep an eye on our weight! I wouldn't wish to eat her meaty morsels though. So I forgo that. She only eats them as and when she feels like it. Generally they are there as a snack. Chloe would always eat anything that was in her dish but Amber doesn't. I wonder if it is because with Chloe she knew the cats were around but now I have no cats Amber knows that there is no competition for her food it will always be there! Hope you are enjoying watching the sport.........makes a change from Football all the time.

          Aloha!:wub2:

Moyra, I haven't watched any sport. I've mowed all the back garden and trimmed the edges of the grass everywhere except the veggie area :phew: - and as we have our friends coming at 7 p.m. I've swept all the patio as well.

I'm going to start on the dinner soon:- cream of celeriac soup, roast chicken and crispy spuds, stir fried veg (mangetout, brocolli, carrots, courgettes, asparagus and mushrooms), followed by the blackberry and chocolate mousse and apple crumble. I'm going to clean up the chicken now and once it's in the oven, I'll make the soup. My sous chef will be peeling the spuds :heehee:

            Aloha, woo and everyone,

That's good news, woo :dancy:. Keep up the good work.

Dinner went down very well and the blackberry and chocolate mousse was an excellent combination . To be recommended :)

They forecast heavy showers this afternoon so I'll get some the mowing of the front garden done this morning.

I hope that all of you and your furry friends have a great Sunday

            Aloha!

              Good morning everyone,

I've been up since five but have been finishing off podding the last of the broad beans{two buckets full}that i picked yesterday and will save some for Mr Kandy's dinner today along with the runner beans and nice joint of beef we are having today. I will freeze the rest of the beans as they don't like sitting in the fridge for two long:biggrin:

Better go and get the new spuds washed, and the other veggies prepared and then later on are going to take stuff over to the caravan and pay some rent:snork:

Enjoy your day everyone and look after those back problems:spinning:

Kandy, the best way to keep runners fresh in the fridge is to wrap them in slightly damp newspaper. People that compete in veggie shows do that - and if you want to straighten them out for competition you do the same but wrap them tightly in the paper.

                Good morning Shiney:smile:

Sorry I should have said it is the broad beans that don't like being exposed to the air as i find they start to go brown even when stored in the fridge so i now freeze them straight away and they keep nice and fresh.Yes I had heard that also about the runners and as yet the ones I have picked are fairly straight but will no doubt get some curly ones later:snork: Mr Kandy picked all the gooseberries yesterday and his arms are scratched to bits and then the gooseberries all have to be topped and tailed:eeew: ready for use and the freezer.A long old job especially when you have three big bowls full.Still musn't complain:snork:

                Enjoy your garden today:smile:
