        Aloha everyone,

I didn't get a lot done yesterday but had a go at the bonnet of Mrs Shiney's car. It's 12 years old and the bonnet and roof are weather worn and are a very dull colour - even when waxed . A few friends who are good DIY people said it looked so dull that it would probably need to be taken to a professional workshop for a buffing machine to be put on it. We decided that to do that would cost almost as much as the car is worth :heehee:. So I bought some T-cut and did the bonnet. It was hard work but has worked well. now I need to buy some wax to finish it off.

Today we are doing our good Samaritan act and doing meals on wheels to friends in Suffolk. He's recently come out of hospital after a cancer op (colon) and we thought we would give them both a rest by doing lunch for them. I've done a courgette and butternut squash soup, chicken casserole (with onions, toms, carrots, celery, courgettes, garlic, herbs and lashings of red wine), mustard mash, and Mrs Shiney has done apple crumble (no sugar, fat or flour) and her wonderful blackberry and chocolate mousse.

Keep well and have a great Sunday

        Aloha!

Aloha Everyone, Another lovely day. Shiney that is very good of you to do lunch for your friend who has just come out of hospital. It sounds lovely and I am sure they will appreciate it. Thanks for the lovely picture WOO even without the sun which has arrived anyway, better late than never.

Hope Theo is getting some relief from his allergy, might just be the heat I guess. Poor little man.

Have a good day everyone. Aloha!:wub2:

            Aloha everyone,

Well, our visit went very well yesterday. Our friend, who is quite a large person, has lost a lot of weight and isn't eating much but he enjoyed and ate everything put in front of him. :dbgrtmb: He's, understandably, quite nervous as they removed quite a number of nodes as well and they weren't too happy with a couple of them. He's going to the hospital today for the results and has already decided that, given the chance, he would have chaemo. Let's hope the test will show that he's clear.

Whilst we were there we had some lovely thunderstorms and when driving home some of the roads were flooded. When we got home it was completely dry! So it's sprinkler time today - after I pick beans.
Loli, Mr L must have real man flu if he's not eating properly. Give him lots of tlc :wub2:

I had a nasty headache and was feeling sick last night but feeling a bit better this morning. At least it's not as bad as the migraines I used to get . I won't do much today apart from feeling a bit sorry for myself and getting pampered (a little bit) by Mrs Shiney :heehee:. I've got a couple of hours work to do in changing over one of our hoses.

I've bought a 30m heavy duty hose to replace an old not so heavy duty one that has now got too many leaks coming in it. It sounds simple but it's a bit more complicated than it seems. I have two hoses running off that tap and the three way connector is so old that I can't unscrew any of the three parts (one runs to the tap and the others to the hoses). The tap connector is a fairly new automatic stop connector so that won't be a problem.

I'm working out what I have to do whilst I'm typing this and having a cuppa. I'll have to remove the tap connector from the hose and remove the hoses from the connectors on the two hose reels (which will then leave three pieces of hose connected to the three way - which I shall dump). Then I shall have to make three new sections of hose to replace the old ones, fix them to the new three way (which I shall have to go out and buy - didn't find out the old one was in such bad condition until I got back with the new hose  ) and to the hose reels and tap connector. Then unwind and disconnect the old hose from its reel - which is an awkward and fiddly job as that connector is on the inside of the reel.

Then the even more fiddly job of fitting the new hose to the inside connector. The new hose will need to be unwound (the way it's packed) and I shall have to make sur it winds around the reel properly. The connector on the end of the old hose will have to come off and be fitted to the new one and then every thing should work OK :dbgrtmb:. Then I shall have to remove a few connectors from the old hose where I have fixed leaks and then decide what to do with 30m of old hose. Some of it is bound to be OK so it seems a pity to dump it but I can't really be bothered with looking for the good bits and cutting them out and storing them for a non-rainy day :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

            Aloha!

Loli sorry to hear Mr. L has man flu hope he feels much better soon, suspect he came on with flu when Theo was getting all of your attention. Lol. Hope Theo is much better - you'll have Archi thinking up some way of getting your attention next. Lol.

Shiney, my word your hose set us sounds so confusing I think I would get a headache too but instead it is my back today. Hope you get your hoses sorted and your headache better soon.

Kaz look forward to seeing the piccys of the christening. I guess it went well.

Waves to WOO, hope your keeping well WOO, take care my dear.

Are the Kandy's still away or just to caught up in the olympics? I am amazed at my sudden found love of it all.

He looked pleased to see his brother too....:dbgrtmb:
Hope your head ache has gone now Shiney....i know it sounds odd but if i've had a bad head there is no greater feeling of relief when it's gone....

                        Aloha everyone,

I hope Theo leaves the stitches alone this time but he may have worked out that if he pulls them out he can get the nice man to make him spaced out again :heehee:

Headache has gone now  but can't move my head quickly otherwise I get dizzy. It's OK as I don't do moving quickly nowadays :snork:

Picked another 3lb of beans at 5.30 this morning. Added to the 10lb picked over the last couple of days will get another £13 for the charity from the bridge club members this afternoon. :dbgrtmb:
One of the members also brings in 6-8 boxes of eggs for sale every week and gives me the money for the charity. :)

I'll see whehter I feel up to doing the hose today.

Keep well and have a great day
