      Wow what sort of fungus is that Zig....must have something to do with jelly fish...that's what it looks like:cool:

        Jew's Ear Fungus. Common on Elder trees, which is the Tree Judas was supposed to have hanged himself from (Didn't think they grew in Palestine?)

        Slice thinly & simmer in stock for about three quarters of an hour.

        Tastes & looks exactly like Jellyfish:snork:

          Don't think the Bible mentions which variety of tree it was,though legend has it that it was a joshua tree.
          Besides,doubt an elder could take the weight of a man.

          Its probably a depreciative description then.

          If we were naming it now, we'd probably call it Banker's Ear Fungus.
