Those red Dog Rose type things are gorgeous when in full bloom, along with most other Med shrubs and plants of course. Nice pics.

I suppose technically Hibiscus in Chinese (down into southeast Asia), and Bougainvillea is Brasilian technically, but they do grow very well in mediterranean areas. I actually have a Bougainvillea at the moment in bract (struggling a little), nice photos though.. what is the plant in the first photo?

Ok its a Ficus is it Sal.:blue thumb:
If you can grow F. elastica in southern Italy with all that frost you mention that they get there, I'm sure it must be a lot warmer in winter than here.

I was thinking it looked like my E pulcherrima (ie, Poinsettia) pete, but really wasn't sure, mainly because mine droops a lot due to the dry heat and no irrigation.

Ficus are really though , plus the pictures have been taken in Sardinia , no frost at all on the seaside , If you ever go to Italy you will be surprised of the flora , when I was living there I never cared about ,but many variety of ficus can take few frost easy.
my last dicovery last year , it was the jacaranta tree didn`t even know was possible to grow that in Italy.

          November to March-ish here Pete.

Wow, Sal, that is an old Jacaranda. Strangely, the ones I have here are completely different to the ones my sister (Kedi-Gato) sees in Florida. Two things in particular, mine have huge clusters of flower like a lilac tree and they are 'loose' in Florida and secondly mine bloom for about two months and in Florida about two weeks!

PS Sal, meant to say that Ficus is humongous, much larger than some of the large ones here.
