First I would suggest taking cuttings (just in case). The best time would be late autumn/winter but take great care doing it. Water it well for a few days prior to moving it. If it is wll established it will have a large rootball which could get damaged whilst moving it. With damaged roots you could loose the shrub. To help, prune about 1/3rd off the top to reduce growth and it will compensate the roots if they do get damaged. All this could prevent it from flowering next spring. Hope this helps and good luck if you decide to move it. I don't mean to sound like the voice of doom but you do have to be careful.

They propagate quite easily from cuttings so, if you lose it, all is not lost. :)

Just a hint when taking cuttings: you will see that some of the branch(es) have two leaf nodes together and they also have the occasional three leaf node. The three leaf node will give you three branches instead of two. This can be of help if wanting to grow it as a standard.

Just to add I'm no genius when it comes to success with cuttings and use the old method of poly bag over the pot, no fancy equipment. I took about 20 cutting of my variegated Weigiela about a month ago as I too want to move my old 1, so took cuttings as insurance. To my absolute amazement every single cutting took!!!!!!!!!!! and now not quite sure what I'm going to do with them all. If you loose your plant when moving it, you'd be more than welcome to a few of my rooted cutting which are growing strongly!
