Not necessarily. It all depends which muscles it passes through. As AC is typically 50-60Hz, faster than your muscles can react, so if it meets a complimentary pair of muscles in equal measure, you'll just lock up in spasm.

This is exactly what happened to me once when replacing a light switch without cutting the mains (because that would have meant my dad's tropical aquarium would have lost power). I told everyone in the room to watch me, and to use a sweeping brush or even kick me clear if it looked like there was a problem. When I locked up, not even able to breath, I could still see people looking over to see if I was still ok. As I was standing up and not moving, I knew they just assumed I was fine. It was only when my legs finally weakened enough for me to collapse that I became able to take a massive gasp for air and have a go at everyone for ignoring me while I was being electrocuted.

I finished the job with the mains off.
