Brenda Lee recorded this at the age of 15.

She started her stage career at the age of 6 and her first record contract was at the age of 11. I remember seeing her in London in 1959 :old:

Her first hit gave her the title of Little Miss Dynamite (she was only 4'9"). The record was called Dynamite and she was still only 12 years old when it charted. I was never keen on the record - but here it is

One of my links between records :heehee::-

The same year (1959) that Brenda was touring England Cliff Richard and the Shadows made a hit record called Dynamite. Although this clip is out of synch it shows you that the Shadows hadn't yet got their 'Walk'.

Cliff (Harry Webb) is supposed to have got the name Richard because he liked Little Richard.

By the time Cliff had released Dynamite his band was called The Shadows but they were originally The Drifters. Cliff Richard and The Drifters had their first big hit with 'Move It'.

Move It and Dynamite were two of my fastest selling records in those days.

Came across this track by The Tourists earlier when I was looking for something else. Unusual in as much as Peet Coombes is taking the lead, and the first time that I've seen this one. Cut to about 1.45 to start it, and check out the "dancing" at 2.35!

As I've always had a thing for Annie Lennox I also sought out a few Eurythmics tracks................

I usually do a number of connections and links on here but, this time, fate has done it for me. :hate-shocked:

The world famous folksinger, Pete Seeger, has just died at the age of 94. He was married to Toshi for 70 years and she died six months ago.

The first, well known, folk group that he created was The Weavers with Fred Hellerman in the group. Both were mentioned in the post above, that I put on here two days before he died.

This was one of his most famous songs that he wrote 62 years ago.

Another of his famous songs is 'To Everything There Is A Season', but it's more commonly known as 'Turn, Turn, Turn!'.

He had a very good innings and was still performing last year :blue thumb:. It only seems like yesterday that he was writing all his protest songs!

Who knows where the time goes?

@Zigs - For me Linda Perry had one of the great modern female voices.
By coincidence I took The Crow soundtrack album with me to Northampton yesterday. This was Miss Perry's contribution to it, featuring the voice of Grace Slick too.....................

Grace Slick was probably best known for her work as part of Jefferson Airplane (and their awful reincarnation as Jefferson Starship).........................

If you're a Gershwin fan or like music played with a lot of feeling, you should like this.

And a superb performance of Rhapsody in Blue by this young Chinese lad.

@Freddy - that takes me back to the golden age of 90's Britpop!
After Bernard Butler fell out with Brett Anderson and left Suede he worked with David McAlmont for a bit....................

James were another of my favourites that have stood the test of time..................

                        Hiya @longk

A couple of great tunes there:blue thumb:
I didn't know the James tune, but I'd be interested in hearing some more. Could you recommend an album?
