Ah, so you add to his "wildlife friendly" patch ;)

Have to say that I do not. Why? Because that would mean catching them and I really don't fancy picking up snails, let alone lobbing them!

You are very very lucky it is years since I saw broken snail shells also years since I saw Thrushes, I had in Cambridge a lot, not here in Dorset, just Magpies ,Seagulls and sometimes a solitary Blackbird that arrives about the time of the Raspberries and that's it.... so slugs and snails rule OK!

Why do people throw snails into their neighbour's gardens but not throw slugs?

What's wrong with airborne slugs? It's discrimination, I say. Slugs would like flying lessons too. :)

Last slug that I threw was still attached to the rim of the beer can that I had enthusiastically tried to drink from after leaving it on a dark patio.

Ever thrust a 5 inch slug straight into your mouth?

I get on fine with all my neighbours, so snails are either stomped on or fed to the chickens.

My neighbour's garden is a disaster anyway.
A few extra snails will feel right at home there. :yikes:

Nice and high over the back hedge on to a tarmac surface. They have a homing instinct so a couple of fractures should slow them enough for the boids:)
