We had a bit of a result the other day regarding PPI - we complained back in 2011 on a credit card that we didn't ask for/sign up to, and the complaint was rejected.

End of last week, a letter arrived saying they had reviewed all old complaints and they had decided they got ours wrong - a cheque for over 4500 is due within the month :yay:

Get those claims in everyone and in the meantime have a wonderful day

              Good Morning all,

This cold is taking a hold of me and I am feeling rather weak this morning. I have been coughing and spluttering all night again so not much sleep. Could do with going back to bed really but must take Amber out for her walk.

Have a good day all, God bless. :wub2:

                Aloha everyone,

Moyra, I wish you better :grphg:
Another sunny day for us to enjoy.

I'm a bit uncomfortable today although my neck has improved and my foot is getting better. It's just a combination of things. My foot is clearing nicely :) but a new patch has started on the inside of my big toe! The mozzies have got me  and the bites are already turning to blisters so I've got to make sure I don't scratch them.

I think I've traced the cause of the problem with my neck so shouldn't get it again, although I'm still not able to turn my head much. It's from picking beans! I use carrier bags to pick the beans into. I pick them with my left hand and put them into the bag in my right hand. It's not easy to put them in the bag unless I lift the bag up so I can drop the beans into it.

Seems simple enough :blue thumb: and shouldn't be a problem, until you've been holding the bag in an awkward position as it gets heavier and heavier - and are doing it continuously for over three hours at a time! I can fill six bags full to the top in one picking so I'm going to have to devise another method.

Using a bowl on the ground is not possible as I can't do the bending. So something like a satchel is required but it needs to be fairly wide open. Something like Scrungee's picking buckets that hang round the neck would be OK if my bad back was able to take it. I think the satchel type idea is the way to go with something inside to keep it open. I'll send the problem to the planning department :heehee:

Mrs Shiney had a very successful day yesterday. :yay: There are 47 'Classes' and she entered 24: got 9 firsts, 5 seconds, 5 thirds, won the RHS Banksian Medal for the most points in the horticultural classes, the Memorial Bowl for the most points in the plants and flowers classes, the Cup for the most points in the fruit and veg classes and would have won the only other cup (arts and crafts) but was excluded from that because she has won it in the previous two years.

Her painting got a first place and some very complimentary comments from the judge. Apparently she spoke about Mrs Shiney having used very professional techniques and especially the technique of using the paper to create the white and not using white paint for it.

All the bright white parts are unpainted paper :blue thumb:

Keep well and have a great day.

Wakey, wakeeeey, ( as Billy Cotton said):snooze:

What a lovely picture.. Well done Mrs Shiney, wish I could draw, the the thing I draw is the curtains.

A beautiful start to the day here in Berkshire, must try to get around the garden today.:spinning:

Looking forward to seeing my grandson soon, his mother took him to Scunthorpe(against a court order injunction) to live with her new boyfriend, my son is gutted, lucky at the last court appearance the Magistrates gave him a 2 week order, immediately for my grandson to stay with his dad, so I have to treasure every moment. It's a 9 hour round trip for him to collect him for the weekend.

OH is slowly getting round, bruising has crept all over the leg, it's just a problem when he wants to go out, what a kerfuffle.:old:

Wee doggie, Fred, been to the vets yesterday and he will be going under on Thursday to have a check on his teeth, he has problems eating his food, 5 small teeth taken out July 2013. So hopefully not too much doing when he is asleep.:doggieshmooze:

                      Good morning everyone,

Shiney ...What a beautiful picture:wub2::love30: ..Congratulations to Mrs Shiney,a marvellous lady:spinning:
Would it be possible to use a wheel barrow to throw your beans in instead of you having to hold a bag or bend ? with a bigger surface area you won't miss the target then you can bag them up:thumbsup: the stretching won't help either although your Shiney frame makes it easier to pick them there's always one you just have to stretch that bit further to pick isn't there...

Moyra....Once Amber has had her walk get yourself a cuppa and the both of you get snuggled up for an hour or so:thumbsup: hope your feeling better soon:grphg:

Woo...So from doing the kitchen floor it has turned into a full kitchen refurb:heehee: I knew it would:biggrin:...

Zig,keep looking for the raffia ,an onion isn't the same without raffia:thumbsup:

Lili...Wishing you both well, enjoy your time with your Grandson:dbgrtmb: hope little Fred gets on OK at the Dentist:doggieshmooze:

I had a lovely time foraging yesterday, crab apples,Elderberries,Haws but only enough Brambles to make a couple of little pies...the best bit was finding the remains of the derelict cottage I used to play in when I got bored of fishing with my Dad,actually there is no trace of the building itself but in the undergrowth I still found the remains of the little sunken garden:wub2: even the old rambling rose, although struggling to flower was still there after all these years(40) I grabbed a couple of cuttings:thumbsup:...fantastic memories :wub2:

It's a lovely sunny one here so instead of gardening I'm going for a wander around Sledmere hall, they've been updating the gardens there so it'll be interesting to see what they've done, hope they haven't 'updated' it too much, don't like all these weird and wonderful modern ideas:rolleyespink:

Take it easy everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

@Zigs Mrs Shiney couldn't find any raffia for the onions but still managed a first by just using rubber bands. :blue thumb:

I know it's late but just had to pop on and say hello to everyone. I now have a shiney new laptop at last as my old one died. I did try and keep in touch with what you were all up to on my phone but I didn't find it very easy. Hope everyone is well. Anyway, I'm off to try and catch up with all the gossip and will see you all again in the morning
