    Good morning everyone,

Shiney that is a shame about your usual accommodation in the Lake District, I hope you manage to find something just as suitable. Glad your foot and neck on the up!

Loli, your tree has character :)

    Morning WOO beautiful sunrise.

Adendoll, think my cold may well be hayfever as my sinuses are so bad but it goes down onto my chest, must get some antihistamine.

Have a good day all, God bless.:wub2:

          Good morning everyone,

Zigs, funny you should say that because I had to clear a couple of infections from the machine this morning. Glad I have the systems to do that. Would like to know who passed them to me.
I went on that damn Face Book yesterday, might have picked them up from there. I hate that site.

Well have a good Bank Holiday Monday everyone despite or in spite of the weather which looks 'B' awful. God bless.:wub2:

Morning all from a wet and dreary Eastbourne

Love your daily words of wisdom Zigs, always makes me smile

Hope your OH is feeling better Adendoll and you get lots of pottering time.

Good luck with the holiday accommodation search Shiney. I've never really spent much time in the Lake District. Just a pit stop on the way to Scotland but it does look really beautiful.

How's your cold/hayfever Moyra? Hope you manage to stop it affecting your chest.

Good thoughts to everyone, hope you have a good day whatever you're doing

              Aloha everyone,

It has been raining all night and the weather map shows it stopping tomorrow afternoon. At least I won't need to put the sprinkler on today :blue thumb: I'm sure we can all still enjoy our Bank Holiday despite the weather. My umbrella is going to enjoy a day out for a change. :)

Our friends should be arriving soon and we'll discuss the guest houses that I've found for us to have a look at. They aren't the ones that come with us at this time of year but always come with us earlier in the year. Some of the places have quite impressive rooms for a B&B guest house but need to have a room on the ground floor with a shower. I'll also check how soft the mattresses are and how I feel about the owners - don't want a John Cleese/Faulty Towers character :heehee:.

This is one of the places I've found which has this as their only ground floor room.

Loli, you should get over to the Lakes as it isn't really all that far from you.

Eve, it's worth a proper visit if you're up in that direction. I'd be happy to give info on places to visit and things to do as I've been guiding people around the place for forty years.

Moyra, I hope your machine is OK now. Never click on any links or attachments unless they're something that you're expecting. :blue thumb: Wrap up well for your doggy walk today :)

Zigs, Keep well and may your umbrella never have holes! :heehee:

Woo, waterproof your wings before flying today and have a Bouncability Day :)

We shall be off to the Countess of Warwick show this afternoon - with umbrellas. :dbgrtmb:

              Have a great day

              Aloha!

Morning everyone, Well getting soaked each time I walked Amber yesterday did not improve my sinus and chest conditions. I am still snuffling and coughing well this morning.

Shiney enjoy your day out today, just hope it doesn't rain as it did yesterday. That was pretty horrific all day. That looks a nice room Shiney!

Keep dry everyone and have a good day, God bless.:wub2:

                      Aloha everyone,

Well, what a wet day it was yesterday. We still went over to the Countess of Warwick's Country Show and we certainly needed our umbrellas and waterproof shoes! It's held at a big country estate and gardens about 17 miles from us. The estate is her ancestral home and she was a descendant of Charles II. She married the 5th Earl of Warwick and, later, went to live at Warwick Castle. She was the mistress of The Prince of Wales (Edward VII). Her nickname was 'Daisy' and she was the inspiration for the song 'Daisy, Daisy'.

As it was so wet we didn't go until 2 p.m. because we were going to need to stay there until 4 p.m. (the time for Mrs Shiney to collect here entries in the show).

It was a proper country show with horse show, dog show, traction engines, veteran cars, art show, lots of side shows around the main arena and loads of events. As my shoulder/neck is still not better I didn't have a go at the plate smashing or 'hit the bell' etc. We had a good laugh at the children's 'dog control' competition. It's the doggy version of musical chairs. They all had to walk around the arena in a circle and when the music stopped the dogs had to sit. The last one to sit was out - but the dog got a biscuit anyway!

One three year old girl was a treat to watch. She had a small mongrel dog that was still bigger than her!! Each time the music stopped she yelled' stop' to the dog and slapped him on his bum. The tone of voice she used made me think that she was going to grow up to be very bossy :heehee:

Mrs Shiney didn't enter any of our fruit or veg but entered three flower arranging classes and six handicraft classes. She won three firsts, three seconds, one third and the other two were 'Highly commended'. :yay:

One of the judges told me that, after the judging, when she saw the names of the competitors she went off looking for an entry in the runner bean section! She's a member of my bridge club and buys runners from me. Having looked at the entries we could easily have got another 'first' :).

Have a great day and may your umbrella always pop up

                      Aloha!

Just looked it up, if her name was Evelyn Forbes then it was his Mrs, who was either fathered by or was the mistress of, the Prince of Wales. Hope it wasn't both :yikes:
