Dull and grey here, but not cold :)

Insulating the roof today, keep a bit more heat in.

Have a good day everyone and don't forget to pick up your copy of Old Moores Almanac for next year :)

Eve was your maiden name Moore as well, there are a lot of us around! I received a Christmas card this week addressed to Moyra and Steve Moore. Haven't been called Moore in 52 years!

                Aloha everyone,

Woo, we wish you better :grphg:

This mountain (in the top half of the photo) is called Maiden Moor :heehee: Mrs Shiney is in the red top and blue hat :wub2:

                150_5069.JPG

We did a bit of clearing out of my office yesterday. What a mess! We put an old printer and a scanner/Fax/printer on Freecycle. Getting them out was a problem. My computer is on a computer desk in the corner of my office between a row of cupboards and the wall, with very little space to manoeuvre.

To disconnect the machines I needed to pull out the desk to get to all the spaghetti behind the computer. There are three, five gang, adapters behind there and loads of cables and wires. There's not enough room to pull the desk out properly because everything else is still connected and their leads don't stretch far enough. Mrs Shiney had to squeeze through to get behind the desk and then we had to trace the wires, undo the ties that were holding them in some semblance of order, untangle them, remove the cables, redo the ties and push everything back.

Years of dust had accumulated behind and under the equipment so it was a dirty job cleaning up.

There was also a phone to remove that had been connected through the router as my internet service came with a free phone line. It was free for ten years but they've just started charging for it. So it is no longer required.

I've also fitted in some new phones that intercept all calls unless I've already put the callers' numbers into the phone memory. It has a lot of other facilities but, in its basic mode, it will intercept all calls not listed, ask them who they are (without the phone having rung) and then ring me and tell me who's calling. I then get the option to accept the call, accept it and have the number put into the 'allowed' list, have the call go to answerphone, hang up or have their phone number barred. If I pick the last option they will be told their number is blocked.

At any time I can change the category they're in. If they don't give a reply to the phone's question they don't get put through. :) If they do give a name and we don't answer the phone (if we're out or eating) then they'll be put through to the answerphone.

I've got those phones on both mine and Mrs Shiney's lines. :blue thumb: We have two phones on each line at a total cost of £80. Well worth it - particularly as my previous answerphone was packing up.

Keep well and have a great day

                Aloha!

                    Good Morning All,

Well did not get my docs appointment yesterday was told to ring back today at 8.30. They don't normally answer their phones until 9.15 so I assume it must be the emergency line. Bet there will be 3000 others all trying to ring early too and I wont get through!

Anyway, I hope all those who were under the weather are now feeling better. Have a good day everyone, stay safe, dry and warm and above all well. God bless. :wub2:
