    Aloha everyone,

My computer hasn't been done yet as the new drive didn't arrive in the post and Tom's little daughter is sick and he's looking after her. He says he'll do it tomorrow as his wife has a day off and will be able to look after the daughter.

I was actually able to go out for a short walk yesterday :blue thumb:. I managed just over a mile (Mrs Shiney wouldn't allow me to do more) with only a little bit of aching legs and back, and my foot was OK. :hapydancsmil: I'll try again today if I get her permission. :)

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

              Afternoon all

Had a couple of days in Eastbourne visiting my Dad and sorting out his care provision as it had all gone pear shaped. He'd had a review the week before and they'd reduced his care visits from 4 to 3 a day, which was fine, but the stupid social worker cancelled ALL his carers instead of just the mid afternoon one and my Dad had no support at all for a week. :gaah:My poor sister was getting the run around from everyone and trying to see to my Dad in the meantime but she's not well herself and doesn't need that stress. Thankfully I've managed to get the visits re-instated though at the moment it's just twice a day as they can't fit in the third one yet. He pays for the service too, so we'll be checking the invoices carefully and making sure he's not getting charged for something he's not getting.

In better news Honey has had her stitches out and enjoying running around a bit more. Cooper has done something to his foot though so Richard has just popped to the vet with him. Honey is having a strop because her brother has dared to go off in the car without her, little madam. Dogs, don't you just love them :doggieshmooze:

My arm and shoulder are definitely getting better, thank you to all who asked. Bit achey from all the driving over the past few days, but I have quite a bit more mobility. The physio I was going to see has selfishly gone on holiday this week just as I'd geared myself up to being tortured - how very dare she :heehee:. So I'll start next week instead.

Hope today went as well as these things can, Loli. Must be exhausting for you and Mr Loli, coping with this as well as looking after the family. Hope you get some time to yourself tomorrow.

Sorry to hear your foot is still so bad Moyra. Did you find out what caused it?

Pleased you're on the mend Shiney, and that Mrs Shiney is making sure you don't overdo things.

Hope everyone else is well - have a nice peaceful afternoon and evening

Gout, Eve, brought on by too heavy a diet of tomatoes. And now I think because of the paracetamol and ibuprofen I have taken it must be affecting my kidneys as I suffer with CKD3 and should try to keep off these painkillers. I think this is causing my ankles and legs to swell.

Oh Moyra, how awful for you. Bad enough having the problem without being able to treat the symptoms because of your kidney problems. :grphg: I've heard drinking apple cider vinegar diluted in warm water can help if you want to come off the ibuprofen.

                    Aloha everyone,

Eve, sorry to hear about the problems with your father's care. I hope they get sorted out soon. Good news that your arm is getting better and that Honey is OK. :blue thumb:

Moyra, I hope your gout settles down. CKD3 is classed as being moderate but careful control of your medication and good diet can help a lot. Has the doctor got you an appointment with a dietician? You can ask to see one. Good control of blood pressure and diabetes (if you have it) can also help. Exercise is also very good - which may be difficult whilst you have gout. Do you know whether you have CKD3 (a) or (b)? :grphg:

Woo, I didn't do my walk yesterday . I went out to do it but started to feel much too cold as there was a strong wind blowing and I didn't feel like struggling to put on my thermal long Johns :heehee:. So I decided to stroll round the garden and take photos. It looks much too windy today for me to want to go for a walk.

Our garden is usually very much behind a lot of others as we get the cold winds blowing off the fields that surround us. I had to walk slowly as there were a lot of beady but wary eyes following me. Twelve pheasants (five males and seven females) were in various parts of the garden and the males kept shouting at me! Some of the females flew away squawking (I seem to have that effect on women  :roflol:) and one poor one was too close to the deer fence when she tried flying and couldn't fly vertically enough to get over it. So I quickly walked away.

All the small birds at the feeders took not the slightest notice of me but the bigger birds (magpies, crows, pigeons and woodpeckers) flew away the moment I went outside. The collared doves weren't at all bothered. :)

I had a bridge match in London last night after playing at the club all afternoon. We won that match :blue thumb:, and on the way home 11.30 p.m. I stopped at a lovely deli/bakery and bought a load of goodies. :hapydancsmil: I'm only playing bridge five times this week (seven last week!).

Tom couldn't come in the other day to upgrade my computer as his little daughter was sick but I hope he's coming today.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!

                      Morning all

Dreary and drizzly here today. Rain is getting heavier as I type so doesn't look like I'll get out in the garden today. Might sow some seeds in the conservatory instead.

Glad your foot is a bit better Moyra, hope it coped with taking Amber for her walk.

Sounds like an interesting walk round your garden Shiney. :fingers crossed: I can get to the Open Day this year then I can see it for myself.

Cooper's foot is fine. He'd pulled one of his nails out but it came away cleanly and should grow back with no problems. He's a bit accident prone is my little clown.

Sending good thoughts to Loli, hoping yesterday went well.

                      Have a great day everyone.
