Pruning Flowers

      Thanks for that shiney, it'll be a great help.

      My garden is 'all wrong' - it doesn't have 3 of this, 5 of that, tall things at the back, low-growing ground cover at the front, in fact I've got 1 (occasionally 2) of loads of different things; there are tall things at the front, tiny things which can be spotted peeping out at the back and a whole mish-mash of different colours and textures all crammed in together ..... and I like it that way, 'discovering' things as you walk around. The only problem with so many different plants, is knowing what to do with what and when.

      If I can now find some way of marking those plants which need dividing in autumn, those which need dividing in spring, those which need cutting back hard, those that don't, etc., - I'll be a very happy little bunny.

      Thanks Shiney - good article.

      Fidgetsmum, I sometimes think the principle of 3's or 5's is a bit overdone. Once perennials have grown up and grown together you really can't tell how many plants there are.
