    Hi all,

We have a wisteria which has been situated in our back garden for around 4 years. A few flowers have started to appear in the summer time. we want to move to a south facing position.

Can anyone tell us when the best time to move it is, as we are under the impression that they don't like to be moved?

    Thanks in advance.

They can be difficult to move Brian, because the roots quickly spread away from the base of the plant so if you try digging too close you will have almost no roots on it. If you do need to move it, start by digging at least a couple of feet away from the base and get as large a rootball as possible.
I would do this mid february just before the sap starts rising. I have done this so know that they can be moved successfully.

    Good luck.

      After 4 yrs.
Personally I'd just buy another one.

By the time you have hard pruned it, and cut off most of the root you may have a very slow moving plant.

But never tried it so just my thoughts.
