Thanks Joolz, but I don't think it's the last one you posted. That looks like a single flower to me.

The clematis I have is only about 18 inches high at the moment, but if I manage to get seeds from it you'll be the first to know. My brother grew it from a cutting, so perhaps that's the way to go. :)

It does look a bit similar doesn't it Joolz  I hasten to add that Sheal's is a much better formed flower if they are the same:SUNsmile:

Nope, I still don't think it's the same. I counted the inner petals on both and mine looks like it has a dozen, more than the other one. I'll be back out there tomorrow when it's light to have a closer inspection. :)

it could just be that, any idea where you bought it from Sheal? maybe it's just a particularly nice form that a nursery has selected to exclusively cultivate and haven't bothered registering as it's so similar to others?

My brother grew it as a cutting from the one he has. But it was in his garden when he moved in five years ago, so he doesn't know what it is either.

Perhaps we should give Armandii a shout, he might be able to put a finger on it.

I'm struggling with server issues this evening. I've been trying to load my pictures here for over an hour now and have given up temporarily. I'll try again in an hour or so.

Meanwhile I'm going to struggle my way around GC, even logging out is an issue at the moment. :wallbanging:
