I used to be tall. At just a tiny bit over 5'10" it used to be fairly rare that I'd meet someone much taller than me. That is until a few years ago when I became average. Then just in the last few days I've realised that when I'm talking to people and we're both stood up, I increasingly find myself looking up in order to not talk to people's chin.

    What happened?

Everybody younger than me is giant. I noticed just yesterday at work as we set off on our ritual friday lunch time trip to the chippy that the youngest lad, aged 33, had to duck as he went through the door. I've never even had to consider ducking under a door frame, except when visiting very, very old buildings.

Clue, you're lucky you're tall enough to talk to people's chins, it could be much worse.

I agree, in general the population is getting taller, but at a much faster rate than ever before.
I used to be 5ft 10in, (probably near 5-9 now), but most people I know, younger than me, are taller.
