I have a sharpal all in one sharpener that was working fine until it wasn't.
I'm not sure if a blade broke off or became embedded in the casing.
Anyway, I'm feeling out of charity with sharpal, particularly as I hadn't abused it or even used it that much and I'm sure it wasn't £20 when I last bought it.
Practically all of the ones available on the net seem to be made by this company.
Can anyone recommend a sharpener of the type with crossed blades that you slide along the cutting edge or will I have to give in and get another Sharpal?

I have a knife sharpener with the crossed blades as you describe. Sheffield steel and made by Kitchen Devil but had it years so don't know of still available.
May work OK on secateurs too ?

I've got one of them somewhere. It's not what I meant but I'll see if I can find it . Who knows. It might work. Thank you @Philippa
