 Yes Music you are quite right they are bigger now as it is the queens around during April and May.. The hibernating queens will be on the lookout for the new home.. During the next few months they are going to be the gardeners best friend though, killing aphids and caterpillars to feed their larvae, which are voracious eaters.

It's not until the Autumn when the nests are dying and they become drowsy feeding on rotten fruit that they become a nuisance... :help: :WINK1:

Hi Marley Farley. Tonight i was doing some work in the garden and i was using power tools,so i was in and out the shed connecting drills and jig saws.i heard this loud drone from the end of the shed.on investigating i discovered the start of a Wasp Bike :gaagh:. i put on my long armed garden gloves and sent it on its Bike :WINK1:. the nest was only about 8 inch above my head. i can handle Aphids etc, but a Wasp Bike above my head:gaagh:.
